I hope you’re right... that with the caveat that they were rumoured to be announcing success in September 2020... then October 2020.

If and when success is announced then a further bounce up seems more than likely.

With dust starting to settle on the Pfizer announcement it then comes to the surface that the vaccine they have produced needs to be stored between -70c and -80c which hardly seems practical in either transportation, delivery or storage.

I understand that the AstraZeneca / Oxford University Vaccine can be stored in a standard fridge which offers a solution to these three issues?

Is this something you can confirm. If I can be so bold, I would suggest any other details you may have would gratefully be appreciated by all board readers.

Full year and half year dividends

In order to help Barclays serve the needs of businesses and households through the extraordinary challenges presented by COVID-19, the Board has decided that for 2020 the Company will not undertake any interim ordinary share dividend payments, accrual of ordinary share dividends, or share buybacks.

In addition, in response to a request from the UK Prudential Regulation Authority and to preserve additional capital for use in serving Barclays’ customers and clients, the Board has agreed to cancel the 6.0p per ordinary share full year 2019 dividend that was due for payment on 3 April 2020. The Board will decide on any future dividend policy and amounts at year-end 2020.

On the basis of the Pfizer Summary, I am swaying to holding Barclays certainly until early December hoping that Pfizer’s further Data, expected in the third week of November, confirms that the success percentages are accurate. I would expect AstraZeneca / Oxford Biomedica Phase 3 results to (hopefully) arrive within this same timescale.

Additionally, participants will continue to be monitored for long-term protection and safety for an additional two years after their second dose.

Along with the efficacy data generated from the clinical trial, Pfizer and BioNTech are working to prepare the necessary safety and manufacturing data to submit to the FDA to demonstrate the safety and quality of the vaccine product produced.

Based on current projections we expect to produce globally up to 50 million vaccine doses in 2020 and up to 1.3 billion doses in 2021.

I have had a week off and have been spending my time in my overgrown garden ensuring it is pruned, cut, tidied and generally Winter ready. It took me 2 days just to lop, shred and dispose of all my Conifer cuttings. Absolutely exhausted... my body is aching in places I didn’t know existed?!

Good to see a collection of posters both old and new to the board adding their views. Long may that continue.

I have undertaken my media search and can’t see that there is anything particularly new or interesting to add to the board in reference to Barclays.

Summary: Barclays Technical Outlook

Barclays is approaching the key resistance level at 112.88 which capped prices in August and October. If Barclays shares can close above that level then a further rally is possible to the 120.00 level and maybe the 132.00 highs from June.

A 113.36p finish today. Much Better than I expected.
Fingers crossed that no stupidity a.k.a a “Stewards Enquiry” with the USA Presidential result should present itself meaning a negative overhang for weeks.

After last week’s gains were pretty much erased early doors, it at least inched its way back up to end the week at 106.56p

Who knows what next week will bring following a monster week of economic events to come?
