Thank-you for your razor sharp, two worded, inaccurate observation. How the board has managed to exist prior to your “value adding contributions”, I’m really not sure? Unless you can expand further on your outburst of “Financial Collapse”, I remain confused? I see no Financial Collapse today? Either in the UK, Europe, or World Wide for that matter. In fairness, the FTSE is down a measly 4 points as I type, does that count as Financial Collapse?

Similarly, despite your prophecy of “Sell Off - Markets will be hit tomorrow” for Monday, this also proved to hugely inaccurate and somewhat wide of the mark, with both Barclays and the FTSE ending up at close of day. I sense you may have lost some money on the markets leading to your statements on this board... but then again I could be completely wrong just like your observations?

It would appear that ii have similar views about the Share Price “marching on the spot” albeit they use the analogy of “shuffling their feet”. In addition they mention “ the share price now needs to exceed 151.5p to trigger something useful.” Not a million miles from my 150p target.

I am not in denial and agree that a Market Correction is well overdue. However, I believe there will be some more upward momentum, certainly in Q1 21 anyway.

I ask politely and come in peace so ask out of interest, when do you see the crash arriving? Q1 21? Q2 21? Q3 21? Q4 21? As with any crash there is always a “straw that breaks the camels back” so what do you see as the trigger?

Rookie1, if .. and that’s a big if... it follows it’s historical behaviours, then it should March on the spot pretty much all week. Up a little... down a little... possibly ending the week not particularly much stronger or weaker than it started. However, a spike up normally happens a few days before the results are due, providing they are better than anticipated. This tends to be the usual unprovable market leaks that the small fry like you or me never benefit from. The big question is when/if the spike will happen. Seen this play out many times where it has happened in the last 15 minutes trading of a Friday or a Monday.

I stress that this is NOT a recommendation, is all Imho, so please MYOC and Good Luck All.

I would suggest that the Barclays Share Price ends higher at close of Business Results Day of Thursday 18th February 2021, than the 147.22p closing price of Friday 5th February... reference to some of my recent previous posts explain my rationale as to why. So much so, that I have literally put my money where my mouth is? I politely ask, do you think otherwise? If so, I would be more than grateful to hear your views as to why?

The Launch of the Oxford/AstraZeneca jab had no positive effect when announced to the Stock Market, so why would this announcement have any significant negative effect on the markets?

There could be a Sell Off tomorrow... but then again if My Aunty had testicles she’d be me Uncle!

I promised myself that I would not comment again politically, so this will be my last reply. For the sake of all, I hope Sir Keir Starmer manages to move the Labour Party from far left towards centre right. We could do with some real opposition to the current incumbents to challenge them, embarrass them and actually congratulate them when they do something well... either by luck or good judgment. I was surprised to discover that 19 Analysts are now covering Barclays, which has to be a positive, as more interest in the Share ultimately should/could lead to more investors and ultimately a rise in the price.? Historically, over the last 12-18 months there have been circa 12 Analysts covering Barclays.

I’ll try to keep this as brief as I can. they say never talk about religion or politics. With the understanding that the media can “build you up, then knock you down”, I sense Rishi’s fall is about to come. I am a floating voter and over the years have voted both Conservative, Labour and Liberal. At the last election, I do believe that the votes that counted didn’t as much vote to get the Conservatives in power but voted to keep Jeremy Corbyns Labour out. Rishi, played the card of being the son from hard working immigrants and that he had no help to get where he is. However, he forgets to mention that the wife he married is the daughter of Business Billionaire who previously paid lobbyists to get legislation passed by Government to his benefit! Are Rishi’s “ideas” truly his? He has been mysteriously quiet of late and in the shadows. He reminds me of a used Car Salesman, all teeth and shiny suit having just sold you a 5 year warranty for your car to prevent sleepless nights. Only to go missing in person when you have an issue and then reminding you when the car breaks down that “that’s not covered. it’s all in the small print”. All this Covid Spending has got to be paid back you know? Just watch what will happen to all the UK Banks when they try and claim on the Government Guarantees for Sour Bounce Back Loans.... “that’s not covered. It’s all in the small print”. You have been Warned!

It all depends on your strategy and more importantly your stake. Please Don’t fall into the category of Fear Of Missing Out and then regret a purchase. Opportunities to buy Barclays stock or any other stock for that matter will come and go.

The questions you need to ask yourself is what timescale are you looking to invest for? Short? Medium? Long? Have you set yourself a percentage return? Or financial amount return? Or a financial income via dividends?

I have two plates spinning here with Barclays. One plate for Medium to Longer Term that I have an average purchase price of £1.20. And my other plate is a pure Short Term play, a decent lump bought at £1.31 1/2p looking for £1.50+ which I think/hope is achievable.

Still holding on my Short Term Play... I want at least 150p and then depending on the “mood music” will depend whether I pull the trigger.

My gut tells me that Barc will beat expectations on results day, 2 weeks today, so I can see the highs of the start of the year returning... As for 160p+ short term. Hmmmm... never say never but I need convincing personally.

I don’t trust Rishi Sunak as far as I can throw him, so have set myself an either/or Sell by Date of Wednesday 3rd March 2021 at the very latest as this is Budget Day, But you know what the markets are like? Intent and Actual are two different things.

Barclays fourth-quarter figures are predicted by Jefferies to show that the City has been too pessimistic about credit costs for 2021.

With revenues in the markets division likely to be somewhere between 2019 and 2020 levels. Jefferies is flagging a 100% upside to the 2021 consensus. It has a price target of 227p, against the level of 137.8p seen today.

A nine-strong list of “high-conviction” buy ideas today named by Jeffries includes Glencore (LSE:GLEN), Vodafone (LSE:VOD), Barclays (LSE:BARC) and Flutter Entertainment (LSE:FLTR) among stocks most likely to surprise in the 2020 results season.

No such thing as a Bad Profit. At least you have the opportunity to Deal again, if you so choose? Well Done! As I often say, for myself anyway, knowing when to Sell seems so much harder than knowing when to Buy.

As for “it really depends on what money your putting on the table as to wether it’s worth it for “a couple of penny’s here and there””. 100% in agreement... I come in peace to all posters on this Board with the understanding, not assumption, that there is more than one way to transact in shares... or skin a cat.
