The way we see it is that the potential and the need to develop a target specific vaccine for covid-19 led to the partnership with Daewoong! "The initial focus for AffyXell will be on inflammatory and autoimmune diseases" and how
to neutralize covid-19.

The understanding we have is that both Avacta and Daewoong already have taken the first steps to address autoimmune responses and the inflammatory aspects of pulmonary cells and this early work will now pave the way for the target specific affimers precision therapy. Part of the work to understand autoimmune responses has been done, now the work to speed up treatment is underway and the hurdles to achieve a fast cure will be address according to the need to find a cure.

As I said earlier, this is our way to a vaccine and cure of coronavirus. I would not be surprised if alot of the "findings" is not already known to the Korean scientists...ie safety aspects of the affimers and the target applications.

About the costs, "Under the terms of the collaboration and license agreement, Avacta’s research and development costs associated with generation of the Affimer proteins will be funded by AffyXell.  In addition, Avacta will retain the rights to commercialise the Affimer proteins outside of the field of cell therapies". Not much different for this partnership I would imagine.

This is what we were expecting as per news of a possible vaccine. Maybe not the way some expected, as to the approach, nevertheless, that's gona be it. It was part of the news we were waiting for.

It is absolutely great news and we all know what Affimers can do.

I don't think your wife is alone on this theory; mine doesn't like small pharmas as she says they are too risky, and let's face it, sometimes the science is not perfect indeed. For mine, coronavirus was going to end a while back, and also last week! But then Spain was back into partial lockdown and bad news are popping everywhere again. Sometimes she almost managed to plant a seed of doubt in my head. But thankfully, Wilson is here! One look at him and and I get all the info I need.

I know, I know. One of my pensions if fully funded on here. My ISA too has avct. However, Wilson has half his holdings on BOO and half on SNG.

It's been a long term holding on this covid "naufrage" times. Everything else is "buy/sell", no long term. Thankfully, Wilson has been a steady hand and we keep spirits up by signing pirate songs.
