Londonlife1,
I am a little more optimistic than what you seem to be, regarding a turning point for economic recovery.
I see a few positive signs of a way out and a rally for the oversold and undervalued stocks.
Although a vaccine tomorrow sould immediately lift the lid on things, we must accept it may still be something yo look forward for next year.
My Hopes rely on rapid antigen LFT (15 min DIY type) which the UK government, and others, are desperately working on and trials are starting within the next 2 weeks. The trials will be quickly done.
Should they be successful, which they seem to be heading that way, we will be able to open borders and airplanes will start flying again (for real now). This alone will inject a powerful shot in the arm of global economies. As you know, governments can no longer afford remain closed for business and the pressure is mounting exponentially.
Biden's election will, as far as I am concerned, bring some much welcomed stability in the politico-economic world (China will second that) and limit uncertainty. This, remember, will be coupled with substantial stimulus from the fed, once Biden takes power.
In my opinion, the volatility in RDS sp will stop once the above happens. That's why I decided to make Shell half of my portfolio. The world will need oil for the foreseeable future, despite the snowflakes' rhetoric.
But that is my opinion for my own investment strategy and DYOR.
Cheers
