Thanks Mike-Think the WPIC have stated that the 25% tariffs will have a surprisingly small negative impact due to less cars been scrapped and less recycled PGMs being avaliable.-they estimate a full of 70 koz in demand for platinium and 269 koz for palladium.

Hopefully there will be lots of negotiations over the coming days to get the tariff rates down

If copper production is good and reasonably profitable there will be a turnaround here and perhaps even a cheeky bid.

On Thursday Leon needs to be upfront about the potential Gross Profit % on the Roan copper feed of 1.6% -it is pointless adding to turnover unless the bottom line improves substantially -although I think this question will not make it through the “censors” or will be answered without giving the figures.

The crux of the matter is JLP need to generate a least a 20% net profit on their turnover-they need to concentrate on this instead of pouring more money into more waste material .

SeisNav -the chrome price has recovered much of it’s lost ground over the last six weeks.

According to Tharisa it was USD $265/t on Friday and it has ticked up further this week according to metals daily.

The low of $200/t was reached in December 2024 -so if the increase in price continues the average price in H2 might not be far off that in H1.

The big thing at the moment is how the actions of the Orange Clown in the Whitehouse will effect commodity prices

Agree with you Raxfactor that patience is a virtue and that PGMs are undervalued -the big question is when and possibly “if” -will they make a material recovery to justify the money poured into Karo-extending the development timescales have no doubt added to the overall cost and could the money been used better elsewhere ?

I still think that the economics of Karo should have been based on longterm average prices of PGMs with necessary adjustments rather than a price as a result of a spike due to a couple of unique factors

Unfortunately the Karo economics were calculated on an over optimistic PGM basket price .

At the time the PGM price barred no resemblance to its long term average and was inflated due to a combination of just coming out of Covid and Putin’s invasion of UKRAINE -both sort term drivers of the price

The Karo project calculations and decision should have been based on a more prudent PGM price circa $1100 and not $1700.

The figures were pretty much known before the final announcement and was already mainly priced in-Chatmandu the future production targets which will be announced in April are must more relevant than past performance -copper target figures are important
