I on routine web search found 2 articles below on web search , both related to optigene lamp assay.

The first one is lab based study in the states which surprisingly states that lamp assay may be more specific than PCR. They however admit that these are based on Contrived Corona samples as they did not have many samples to study .
The second one is the effort in the same lines to use LAMP assay for corona.

To me it seems there needs to a comparative trial of techniques before naming PCR or optigene LAMP assay as similar or otherwise in any sense. PCR assessment will be in the drivers seat till then.

2. Canon to develop rapid test for coronavirus

February 27, 2020 -- Canon Medical Systems said it has begun the development of a rapid genetic test for COVID-19, the disease caused by the 2019 novel coronavirus.
For the project, Canon is partnering with researchers at Nagasaki University to develop a test and reagents based on the loop-mediated isothermal amplification (LAMP) method from Eiken Chemical. The test and reagents will be used with a Canon compact isothermal amplified gene fluorescent detector.
The project is part of a program from the Japan Agency for Medical Research and Development (AMED) to create new diagnostic methods for COVID-19. Canon sees the LAMP method as being faster than the current standard of real-time polymerase chain reaction (PCR) testing, which could make it a better option in local areas with high disease prevalence.

Older- Very good call on your part to move to GGP. Buy the way i saw your post on other board somewhat hinting your fab time at GGP. Thats what directed me here and hopefully the journey here will progress well.

Older - I probably missed your point mentioning your experience with GGP as opposed BVN(Vanadium weighted) . Did you move holdings from BVN to GGP considering the potential and progress in GGP . I ask as I am somewhat in a similar dilemma .
On another note, I do like the GGP admin team and the mature BB here . I am somewhat a starter here unlike the team here . Perhaps a bit late to the party.

Had this recently as anew bee to AIM and learnt it at my own peril. I set Stop losses below 50percent of the SP and even then had to be mugged. Please, never place StOP loss on AIM share . Pundits here may may better tricks to play.
They say the MMs will hoover out stop losses they apparently can see all stop loss limits greedily..

Myles- Thxs for succinct response . Yes we are here to stay long term like you, but at a much higher share price and low volume compared to yours Ha Ha.
It appears buy on the dips here is good philosophy here, during the possible volatility next week

As a micro cap -expert, can you please qualify your statement for the benefit of the rest here. Although i have invested here and looking fwd to do more , no the price has gone up by 20 percent and I wonder it is too late now at this stage . ( I know once Cytiva confirms this then we have a higher limit)

Piper : Hats off for this assessment and the ability to pick up the needle from the hay stack of stocks on offer at the moment.
I presume this assessment is on the conservative side although even a 3 times bagger will do(unlike suggested 5 timesbagger )

Agree Van V: it is amazing how this covid situation has brought in so many companies and products to test , as you mentioned
AVCT, ODX, SNG, GDR. For a keen methodical researcher / investor it is a minefield indeed at this time . I am sure many here are in the same head frame . Despite best of research, it also needs a bit of luck , i think.

Excellent analysis indeed; As it stands now or in the near future NYCT is in the driving seat as opposed to AVCT . I am invested in both of these . However AVCT has advanced biotech affirmers which make it a compelling futuristic investment involved in diagnostic and therapeutic world of cancers and infections.

Oldandwiser, I read your thoughtful comment about GGP on AVCT team today . I have researched GGP with the potential for Newcrest Mining to acquire the entire share capital in Greatland in the near future,
Is it worthwhile for me at this juncture to consider GGp or is it too late to the party . If not too late , what are your views about future prospects and risks in GGP. I hear a lot about difficulties and uncertainties in mining companies.

Guys by and large all of us have done well to come to this stage. yes - sorry to see some members banned. You may disagree but we need guys like Silver on this bb who have been in AIMs for long and have seen ups and downs ( although I know some have reservations). Tomvisual: very valid points - why should the govt use unapproved or non proven tests especially when the stakes are high? I believe this is just an eyewash to show some thing has been done. Ncyt on the other hand ticks all the boxes now.
I did not understand the sentence "2 hour test time is about to reduced when dPCR comes into production." .
I believe the current ncyt test uses Rt-PCR (Rt -real time) and takes 2 hours
