I've never heard of new oil or gas operation that worked properly from Day 1 - there are always things have to be changed, adjusted etc. The problem with ANGS isn't just"first gas" it's steady production, day after day 24/7, at rates well above those seen when the field was last operated.

I'd be uneasy if this was BP - given ANGS unequalled record there can only be one outcome IMHO

This is true but HUR are dependent for now on a single well - the others have diversified production

if I was a third party coming into operate I'd want to get rid of RKH as soon as possible - we bring nothing to the party going forward - we'll always be looking to farm or wait to raise cash for a series of developments. You could just keep sending bigger and bigger cash calls in and see Sam have to dilute and dilute the licence interests to maybe 1% - it's happened elsewhere

It's not a problem for the UK - we use very little Russian oil & gas. The problem is Germany.,Italy and C Europe who are very very dependent on Russian supplies. That's what is driving up the price - and UK oil & Gas producers are allowed to sell their product at world prices.

You could insist they sell at half world prices but any long term investment would be completely shot and we'd finish up with very little production in the future

Fraccing might well work on the Kimmeridge - the problem is you'll need a lot of wells and well sites - and the Weald is solid Tory country as far as the eye can see. they'll go crazy - and this is where a lot of MP's and their financial backers live - ain't going to happen.

It will take two years, that lunatic Sarah Finch will crowd fund more appeals, the councillors are afraid of the voters and they don't pay any costs involved. For the average householder around the sites even if they e council is charged £500k in costs it works out to be about a tenner each - and most people think its well worth that to put off any activity near them
