the regular Punta Arenas - FI flight every Saturday often stops in Argentina at Rio Gallegos. Some people get on and off. Officially its "for the families of the heroes" to be able to visit the FI (which the do) but practically it's mainly fishermen flying into the FI to get on trawlers etc. The Argentineans are n't terribly friendly but they do handle the passengers my friend. The Brazil flights were going to be operated by the Brazilian LATAM airline - it was all in Penguin News for a start.

Distance isn't a deal breaker for a VLCC - they move a lot of oil from W Africa to China for example - Sea Lion is as shorter distance than that. Argentina could make life irritating but you could always run logistics out of Uruguay or Brazil. And remember that Argentina had approved a Brazil- Argentina- FI weekly commercial flight just pre Covid

Won't happen - the voters like it the way it is - hence no changes promised in the Energy Strategy - which is only 2 weeks old. The Tories look at Beaconsfield which was lost due to LibDems working up a storm about the chance the central Govt would override the local councillors.

go back through all the onshore UK oilers since 2010 - time after time the elected councillors have turned down highly positive recommendations by the professional planners on their staff. They don't care - they only know it's popular to kick it as far down the road as possible. The electors love them to do it. Sure there are costs but the Councillors don't bear those costs and most electors reckon its worth delaying the any go-ahead for as long as possible - it doesn't cost any individual more than about £4 even if the council has to pay costs.

That RNS just proves what a lot of people said on here - the original deal was done in a panic and the well was drilled on incomplete data - so half the value of the farm-in has been lost , a year wasted and we're no further forward

The well seems to be performing well - production and pressure falling slightly, water up sightly but very much in line with the last 10 months numbers
