Cheers mate i know what your saying re funds but i also feel this is a prime takeover terget or maybe even a merger as stated in the article with Northam andinterestingly in order for that to happen the price needs to re rate closer to fair value which i think is starting now .A nother reason i think TO/merger may be on the cards is that AQP is/was 4th largest plat producer but changed its CEO internally not getting a big name replacement such as AAL have maybe because of that reason also Northam have raised 2 billion to develop the said acquisition all IMO

Just been checking to see what getting the hanging wall sorted at Kroondal will mean for AQP . As it hasnt been at full production in 2012 , But was in 2011 and 2010 checking the figures looks like about an extra 50k Oz a year platinum 25k Oz ayear palladium and 10k Oz a year Rhodium and 1k oz Gold a year. Expecting the news that Kroondal is back at fulltilt from January in the 29th January results . Wont do any harm to the figures and expectations going foward IMO . Would be a 25% increase in production if achieved 2013 compared to 2012

Hi mate . yeah im in BLVN as well got in last week so nice to see it break past 70 going forward the question i wanted to ask was re a chart for Platinum as last week i think it broke a few resistance levels and wondered if breakout etc worked in the same way for the commodity itself as a share in a chartist way . So if you get the time fella was interested in your thoughts chart wise on platinum itself. Will be seeing you on the BLVN board also and still holding here with potential upside from the AAL strategic review rumoured to be out next week and only a couple of weeks for production update and probably the same time Kroondal update

Well the gap just keeps closing only $35 now . With the AAL strategic review potentially next week think we may see platinum overtake gold in the precious metals $1673 Gold ..... $1639 platinum live . All good for aqp going forward IMO a rising platinum price can only be good news for us here

If any of our chartists are looking in EVO / Watntonhearts or trades could someone have a look at the platinum chart and post up their thoughts as Platinum now trading $1638 and recent rise i think has taken it few a few barriers . Breakout territory not sure does it work in the same way as shares re a commodity chart . Thoughts much appreciated if anyone can find the time to take a gander

The article also states that they could make cutsat there four least profitable mines(lowest margin just foud this in another article from September 2012 and good to see Kroondal not in the top 5 . So potentially good news for AQP from AAL straetgic review if out next week and more ounces cut ............................ The five mines affected were Khuseseleka, Bathopele, Thembelani, Khomanani as well as Siphumelele. According to Anglo American spokesperson Pranill Ramchander, the five shafts employed 26,000 workers and accounted for around 2,100 ounces in daily production. Well this article states Amplats(AAL) strategic review could be out as soon as next week as long as Kroondal isnt affected which i cant see and hasnt been mentioned as one of their higher cost mines will be good for other PGM miners . Amplats accounts for some 40 percent of global supply. “Our base case is that (Anglo) are likely to put two of their existing Rustenburg operations on care and maintenance, and if they do that, that would take out 200,000 to 220,000 ounces of platinum per year,” said Tom Kendall, an analyst with Credit Suisse, which has a 2013 forecast for platinum of $1,695 an ounce, above the current price around $1,590. Last year, Amplats produced some 2.5 million ounces. Most analysts expect the miner to at least cut its two lowest-margin shafts - Rustenburg shafts Khuseleka and Khomanani, whose impact analysts estimate at 230,000 to 250,000 ounces. More optimistic forecasts put cuts as high as 500,000 ounces. Anyone know the rules re FTSE 250 listing as AQP went under 50p when removed from FTSE 250 in SEPT 2012 . Anyone know when its reviewed and is it straight on Market Cap at the date its reviewed or average over the period qtr or whenever reviewed ??? Answers on a postcard

Intersting read the article on possible Mortham merger re Booysendal deal if any more rumours come around about this we really will start shifting good to see us pretty much holding yesterdays gains when we outpaced the market and sector
