Well weve dropped back a little to be expected as recent new highs hit today so again profit taking on new high price but again we are in the cycle of higher lows and higher highs . Any close above 70p today and id be happy going forward

Well as the price is increasing so is the volume and now buys nearly caught up with sells from being 250k odd difference most of the day so as the the price is rising still more buyers and any short positions left in here from the 40p - 50p range must be wanting out

Re Ratings on the cards IMO

Hope you topped up the other day fella . Id say the call re the AAL strategic review was pretty spot on 70.75-71 live and plenty more to go IMO over time . Could see some broker upgrades for AQP from plat price effect from the AAL review

Well South Africa like it volume wise 500k traded already and yesterday total trades 100k day before 150k

Need the volume up here to push us on towards the 70p mark im suroprised no big buys gone through yet but im expecting to see a few throughout today . This really is starting to look a better and better recovery play with each bit of news coming lately and platinum now hovering around $1700 when we only have mines running that were profitable at aroung $1500

But AQP at least consolidating its recent rise and results due 29 Jan with potentially more good new on Kroondal and increased production AQP acted first of the big plat producers so got hammered first and hopefully will recover better first

Liberum said the AAL strategic review next catalyst for AQP move lets hope so all good going forward IMO

Yes i think it is around the $1800 mark and i can see platinum breaking through $1700 today the way its going . 4 mine closures for AAL analysts were airing on thje side of 2 closures last check in south africa AQP was trading at 67p so should be a blue start and some more shorts closing or some sustained buying could see us push on from that price. Reaction in SA by miners at rustenburg will also be intersting

Anglo American Platinum therefore proposes to reconfigure its Rustenburg operations into a sustainable 320-350,000oz platinum producer across three operating mines. Four unsustainable, high-cost shafts, namely Khuseleka 1 and 2 and Khomanani 1 and 2, will be put on long-term care and maintenance. As a result the production profile will be reduced by approximately 400,000oz per annum with a baseline production target of 2.1 - 2.3 million oz per annum.
