Shares on major United States markets closed deeply in the red territory on Friday as the rise of the coronavirus cases in the country seemingly adversely affected the market sentiment. The aggregate number of COVID-19 cases in the United States hit 8,944,934, after surging by a record-high 88,521 since the previous update. Also, investors are monitoring US President Donald Trump rallying all over the country before the US presidential elections.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average was down 0.58%, or 154 points at the close with Apple slipping by 5.60%. The Nasdaq 100 fell by 2.62% as the trading session closed. Seagen was the worst performer falling by 13.28%. The S&P 500 dropped 1.21% at the closing bell as Twitter plunged by 21.09%.
