British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak would block former British Prime Minister Boris Johnson from going back to being a member of the British parliament, the Guardian reported on Monday, citing sources with knowledge of the matter.

The two had a row over the honors list earlier. Sunak claimed that Johnson asked him to "overrule" the House of Lords Appointments Commission's (HOLAC) decision to reject eight of his nominations. The ex-prime minister responded by saying that Sunak was "talking rubbish."

Last Friday, Johnson announced he would be stepping down as MP, following the release of the Partygate report.

Former Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi has died at the age of 86 at 9:00 am local time, Corriere della Sera first reported on Monday.

The former primer minister was admitted to San Raffaele Milan Hospital last Friday for scheduled medical check-ups, just a few weeks after being discharged. He had previously been treated for a lung infection related to chronic myelomonocytic leukemia.

Berlusconi served as Prime Minister of Italy in four terms, from 1994 to 1995, from 2001 to 2006, and from 2008 to 2011. He was also the owner of AC. Milan, from 1986 to 2017 and faced numerous scandals during his political career.

Elsewhere, Ukraine says Russia has blown up another dam in the Zaporizhzhia region, following the destruction of the major Nova Kakhovka on Monday, which caused widespread flooding.

Ukraine says the dam was blown up by Russian forces, who have controlled it since February 2022.

Valeriy Shershen, a spokesperson for the Ukrainian military, said Moscow's forces had chosen to blow up a second dam near the village of Novodarivka, which "led to the flooding on both banks of the Mokri Yaly river".
