I am hoping for a GGP update next week… stating GGP is buying Telfer and Havieron. I guess I’ll wait and see. One more week until we find out!!

The other week I recall Northern Star was linked to the Telfer purchase, whatever happens, as long as GGP is a main party to the transaction... happy days!

Fred that'll be a win if it comes under $500m USD. Fingers crossed. Given projected gold price, projected annual production, repaying $500mill over 7 to 10 years is achievable.

Telfer mine has been down since December last year, sheesh.

Well if the "word on the street" is to be believed, the Newmont Town Hall on 1st August at the Telfer site is to inform staff of the sale of the asset. Not long until we know for sure.

"I thought they had a separate account they had to pay into with remediation fees as part of original permission to mine?" -- there has been lots of opinions on what has happened but I have not seen any actual evidence of the current situation. It needs to be researched and verified.

Telfer has a massive remediation liability if it closes. So they need to calculate a discounted cash flow for Telfer based on annual production over a number of years, then deduct the future remediation liability from the total, to calculate a net present value.

Remaining mine life, remaining resource, cost structure. 3 very important factors for Telfer. I’m sure GGP has all the necessary data as potential buyers have been running their ruler over Telfer / Havieron for months now.

StarBright = post of the day. Spot on. We all know funding to buy Telfer / Havieron will be a combination of debt and equity. Assuming GGP buys them of course. Now we just wait to see what GGPs Board has "wheeler dealers" behind the scenes on behalf of the company/shareholders.

Agree Jerry. The compulsory superannuation rate increased to 11.5% on 1st July 2024. If GGP can make the top ASX200 or ASX100 companies then look out..... as their shares are purchased compulsory similar to FTSE100 companies.

Various index tracking EFTs, superannuation funds, private investors, a lot of money will buy into GGP. This is why I think the ideal outcome is for GGP to be listed on both the FTSE and hopefully make the FTSE100, and do the same in Australia on the ASX.

Then you have two large pools of money on opposite sides of the world buying GGP shares.

The Money of Mine episode from yesterday is where I got the info about the Spartan release by the way. Made me look on the Spartan website. Their SP is up over 400% over the last year too. It’s very interesting!

Spartan is up a fair chuck the last 2 days after their MRE update which made me think about GGP on ASX, because Spartan have undergound mining to do like us, they have good grades but not the length of Havieron. We have a resource anywhere from 10mOz to 20mOz in Hav, so far Spartan is well short. Yet their market cap is double GGP. Hence in super keen to see what transpires if GGP can buy Telfer plus Hav and then list on ASX.

@Bamps.... one you may be keen on reviewing. ASX gold explorer on a tear at $1.4billAUD market cap, which is double GGPs market cap. Makes me wonder what the ASX will ascribe to Havieron.
