You are making assumptions about what they can do. It is very inappropriate for GGP to comment on Newmont's sale process.

Shaun has been asked in several interviews his thoughts on the sale, etc. and he has provided his opinion.

It is a waiting game for us all. Newmont need to sort out Telfer and get it ready for sale. GGP and potentially others are making a bid to buy Telfer/Hav. There is absolutely no way Shaun/GGP can comment about this until AFTER the transactiion is complete.

It is extremely unwise for GGP to make any comments about what Newmont does.

Newmont is so big that Havieron is so small to them, despite it being everything for GGP at present. Since the Newmont Town Hall is for ALL Australian staff then it seems the call will not be about the divestment. The wait continues unfortunately.

Newmont pay 70% of the costs so if they wish to pause what can GGP do…. Nothing.
