Morning all glad I checked the sp before I looked at price on here showing £3.60
Now £3.80
That would have got my attention
Currently really £4.34

I have felt this quarter buyback has been handled much better.
There appears to be some slack in the system to all the 13 m days when sp has dropped back.
This may be simply a function of this quarters buyback being larger or they have learned from last 2 quarters.
Or it may be blind luck, but I’m hoping it’s better tactics.

Was not suggesting that anything in offing for Rosneft although it would be nice.
( I always though India and Reliance was a good fit)
Just it’s another Headwind we have had to deal with.

And you missed out our Rosneft sitting in Limbo with no apparent value and earnings being stored in a cupboard somewhere for BP

People go on about pre covid levels, and yes I know if you bought at those high prices that’s a large factor in why.
But owning a share is about looking forward.
BP now is a totally different company.
Debt significantly lower.
Profit much much higher
Break even much much lower.
Share count actually falling.
Only problem we are still all waiting on our rewards.
I am now starting to think this very weak pound which we like for the help it gives div , could start a wave of companies being bought up by US as not only is £ v $ very strong for then, but as we all keep saying UK valuations are also low.
Don’t know if it will translate to oil patch, but think for example if you bolted BP onto Chevron it’s formerly BP part would probably double in price.

Call me old fashioned but it used to be thought good of.
When one of Britains Biggest companies made big profits.
Now it just gets a target on your back

That’s another way of saying market cap is just over 3 years worth of this year’s profits.
Does that seem like a normal valuation or is that unusual?
