Would love to know what is the difference between price signed in 2016 and prices today.
Even if there is some link to current prices, I would expect a lot of profit still in deal for BP as that is whole point of contract versus spot prices

At least by Friday we will know a bit more on what our government plans are for BP and Shell.
When you think about it it’s not actually really a bad thing to be invested in a company that’s making so much money others are jealous.

As ever the devil will be in the details.
There is always a way to game the system ( to keep payments to a minimum).
They always ( maybe deliberately) leave loopholes.
Hopefully the full effect will be less than we thought.
At least hopefully this will make it a known thing until end of this parliament.
But then I thought that last time.
We all know it will be getting looked at again in a couple of years.

While never good news if there is a strike the number above suggest it’s possible some parts of Refinery will still run.
“Parts of the site went into planned turnaround at the start of last month”
So some of it is currently running.
Normally turnaround time is a gold mine of extra earnings.
When a strike happened at our refinery management took strategic decisions on what they could keep running with non union staff.
The more they can keep running the quicker both sides will settle.

Not sure I agree.
Thanks to Putin BP have wrote off many Billions of $.
Yet sp is still nearly £5.
I believe OPEC have now discovered it makes more sense to manage oil price around $90 and not play silly games.
So believe they would have kept oil price high whatever Putin did.
If the value of Russian assets ever comes back onto balance sheet either via a sale or IPO ,or some compromise after end to the war, sp must jump meaningfully.

Think you are being a bit paranoid.
I was asking simply for a very loose description of how it was carried out.
Which a competitor could probably find out in an afternoon.
I was simply trying to work out if as one region finished management could start to look at staffing levels or if the major part of cut in numbers would be all at once in a couple of years.

BP Financial Calendar still saying 11 th Bank holiday in US.
Looks like nobody’s told them it’s a day off.

Can I ask how the build out progresses.
Are they doing the most populated first?
Are the trying to complete areas/ regions so that switch overs can progress in a region ( I mean by this an Open Reach region staff wise).
Or are the just going flat out everywhere to gradually join different patches together.
And finally how long roughly does it take to cover a small town of say 10,000 people.

Would have been even happier if it had been less .
But at least if was not up at the highest numbers.
What chance have I predicting sp when I can’t even get that close in millions to the buyback numbers.( 25% ish out).
Buybacks must still be a fair chunk of the support at present.

BoE member says interest rates are high enough to cool inflation

Silvana Tenreyro, an external member of the BOE’s monetary policy committee, told a conference in London that “policy was already in restrictive territory” before the committee’s November meeting, when the majority voted to raise interest rates by 0.75 percentage points to 3 per cent.

Tenreyro, iS suggesting that the central bank has already done enough to rein in inflation, which stood at 10.1 per cent in September — five times the BOE’s 2 per cent target.
