If you look at oil price over last 5 years todays price is surprisingly a high price.
Except for 2022 $80 oil is a really good price.
With inflation $80 oil should now be $90 oil.
So that’s what I still expect OPEC to defend

It obviously depends on the size of the tanker how long it takes to load or unload.
Largest ones will take possibly 24 hrs.
You cannot just add more pumps and fill all tanks as quickly as possible.
You have to start filling at one end first and work your way to other end.
Otherwise you will break the back of the ship due to uneven pressures.
Your point about how quickly some data seems to appear is very valid.
Many media stories I think start with a headline ,then try to arrange the facts to the headline.

Every time a tanker is delayed somewhere for even a day it starts to add up.
At Grangemouth there was very great pressure to get tankers released as soon as possible.
1) to make sure they caught the tide
2) as it was costing at that time (80s )£1,000 per hr to just sit there.
3) obviously while delayed there this caused knock on delay to next port.
It’s a bit like airplanes they want them working and earning
I really don’t want to see any oil spills , but the risk is much higher with older tankers.
It would just take one spill for countries to stop allowing entry to old tankers.
They are replaced at about 15 years old for a reason

Is anyone else having trouble with posting on here.
I frequently get to probably about 250 words then it’s like it times out and all the words disappear and it’s an empty post.
It’s happened 3 times tonight and about 5 times in last week or so.
1) It may be my internet, but only happens here and struggle to understand how a blip on my internet would cause that particular problem.
2) the system might be becoming self aware and just finds me boring.
3) there is a fault and I am not the only to suffer.
It happens infrequently and this message has sat open for about 20 minutes without a problem
Any thoughts.

There are 2 camps.
1) says recession will cause demand destruction until oil price drops low enough for demand to pick back up.
I personally am in camp 2)
Which is as Jakers says expects OPEC to do whatever it takes to manage oil prices and not repeat their last mistakes.
I think OPEC will take its time and do things when it’s viewed everything happening

There were comments made yesterday about me posting the buyback figures daily.
The reason I started posting was a disagreement on here about buybacks on a certain day.
Some people find them useful.
It’s easy to say they are available in RNS but on at least one occasion they were not.
I will continue to post until end of this buyback period ( probably year end).

Unless something unexpected comes along like
Fusion which is always about 10 years away from being available.
Then think we will still need oil right up till 2053.
There have been some interesting developments in Hydrogen,which if they ever lead to commercial development may make a big difference.
However Hydrogen is a bit scary for obvious reasons.
Doubt if we were starting from scratch now you would ever be allowed a Filling Station anywhere near houses.
