Down in Borders just now on a holiday with wife and dog.
Got what daughter describes as a Familymoon the week after her wedding in April ( that’s 6 of us 4 adults 2 kids).
Then another cruise booked for August up to Viking country.
I’m doing my bit to stop demand destruction.

That’s the big question.
It’s only a month since results day, seems much much longer.
It’s only just over 3 weeks till end of quarter and so far oil price Ave above $80 and potential to inch up a bit hopefully.
It’s still about 8 weeks til next results,but it would be wonderful to have next set of results again better than expected and starting sp about £5.60.
I’m in a hurry to get to £6, it’s where we should be.

It’s really only about doing what you are doing better.
Spending money to get the most out of what we have would help lots.
Except on the days with no wind

Hi Jakers agreed it could only happen in the affluent world.
That however is the beauty of using them for Hydrogen production .
If you imagine a wind farm of say 40 turbines all could produce Electricity for peak demand .
The rest of the time at least half could be producing Hydrogen.

It’s becoming a habit with the WSJ.
You would think if we can see it some one would investigate the report authors.
Sure someone somewhere made money.
It will eventually tarnish the WSJ brand.

I think oil price is being managed by OPEC to keep it between $80 and $90 .
Saudi have increased some prices again so they know what they are doing.
Not to cheap not to dear which might hurry in the much talked about recession.
Which my builder is still not seeing ( stopped taking on any new business as so busy)

Putting your shares in an ISA as described below has no drawbacks ( assuming you don’t get any extra charges for your ISA account.)
The shares can be cashed and money taken out as normal.
The big benefit will be taking the cash out in future as capital gain allowance is severely reduced over next two years .
The second big benefit will be reduced tax bill on your dividends ( as tax free allowance on this has also been reduced.)
So would advise get some in before end of tax year.

Morning all
I’m never really comfortable with buybacks over £5 as so often in the past they have been a bad investment.
This time I am a bit more hopeful that BP will still earn lots of cash in most oil environments.
Would like to see buybacks continue but maybe at half the amount per quarter so we still slowly drop share count,even with new share issues.
The extra cash to pay debt down a chunk.
The article was a bit iffy as its final part really said big oil says it will continue buybacks.
But it’s a nice problem to have .
Where will our investment spend its pile of cash.

£6 looking very possible by some time in 2023
So £10 no longer looks such a silly number.

Wonder how those number will look in Dec 2027.
But I repeat not a prediction just does not look impossible

Can’t really see any one reason for our rise today,only thing might add to Spights
reasons might be buyback related.
Doesn’t look like a very busy day so buybacks might have more influence.
Do however think the mood around BP has changed massively since results day.

If we had a resolution of Rosneft and paid down GM debt,would expect a large pop in sp as the 2 biggest drags on sp would be removed.( other than perhaps greening)
That would be good news and probably take us out of takeover territory.
Just my opinion

Think it currently makes sense for minimal div while debts are high.Good to see debt drop by approx 10%

Morning Spights
If it gets repeated often enough,it might eventually put BP in play for a takeover.
However BP in great health so every chance sp will slowly rise due to next set of results,until we are no longer so obviously a large bargain to takeover.
Markets are meant to be an efficient way of measuring the value of a company.
They are currently very wrong if takeover chat can exist ( however that’s not unusual or we would never have takeovers).
