IMHO JP et al are doing what they can for a "good outcome". The concern is whether the geology would help. Add to it the politics & bureaucracy and that explains a big chunk of the delays. Of course they are not perfect (no one is).

It is very likely there are discussions with potential interested buyers but it depends in T10 and how many other similar prospects. If potential is there, Repsol could be a good candidate because of synergies with its portfolio in spain and of may be politics. The BoD might consider at the end a good offer for the shareholders. It is not sure that the new bosses (lenders) will keep them and if they do for how long. Same for Ashley if takes over. They might however keep some "good" reputation in the market if they left a legacy of a BoD who considered the interests of the shareholders. JIMO
