"The French and Irish electricity systems are the most vulnerable this winter as Europe is contending with its worst energy crisis in decades.

The continent's network will face the most stress in January and February, but France and Ireland could see issues before that, the European grid group Entsoe said in its preliminary winter outlook".......

I would also agree there. Lot's of disgruntled posters (won't name names lol) wanting to continually talk it down here because they no longer hold and lost big chunks money but can't bear to see other people do very well from these levels which they will do!

My understanding is that if Team Resolute win the potential revenue from the £1.6Bn contract is nearly £600M .....

SP wise, looks like we are ready to head up again. I reckon we'll finish over 7p today....

My understanding was that should we (Team Resolute) end up as preferred bidder it would be somewhere in the region of £600M we would stand to benefit from in potential revenue not £300M? :))

"Irish households are in for “two tough winters” as a result of the energy crisis the Oireachtas committee on European Union Affairs has heard.

Cillian O’Donoghue, director of policy at Eurelectric which is the European electricity association and Paul Deane, SFI Research Centre for Energy, addressed TDs and senators today

Mr O’Donoghue said the “root cause” of the energy crisis is “a shortage of gas in the system” which has seen prices ‘explode’ because of market manipulation and geopolitics."

Looks like the nimby's have actually contributed to making energy security even worse than it needed to be. We may get the storage facility built after all :))

Just for you stokey I'll continue to post any note worthy things that I find as usual and I'll filter Mr Speedy so I can't see what carp they may or may not be writing, that way everyone's happy - apart from Speedy of course lol

Stokey what you are asking Speedy to do is something they are incapable of doing I fear. This is someone who seems to get a kick out of slating the company day after day long after they sold out almost as if they think it's their sense of duty to try and save others here.

UK’s National Grid Seeking More Natural Gas Supply Amid Possible Winter Shortages

"National Grid plc, which manages the UK’s electricity and natural gas networks, is looking to secure additional gas reserves to help manage potential supply shortfalls this winter, particularly if LNG deliveries are diverted.".....

....."The UK has exported record volumes of gas to Europe since Russia invaded Ukraine in February. Since the UK has little storage capacity compared to other European nations, it typically has imported gas from Europe to help meet winter demand.

Chances of a gas shortage in the UK this winter prompted National Grid’s Electricity System Operator to publish contingency plans in its Winter Outlook. Under one scenario, there could be three-hour power blackouts imposed if supplies fail to meet demand."

Silly thing is Islandmagee gas storage would literally have made the difference between having to or not having to issue the gas supply warning had it been up and running

As for the FSS contract I think we are intelligent enough to know that it's hearing about the preferred bidder first then an official contract next year, I mean I've only mentioned it like 10 times about preferred bidder as opposed to an actual contract ffs ;))

Considering you don't even hold any shares here anymore you could always just read the RNS like all the other shareholders Speedy. The detail about Saipem is all there and it's small fry compared to the FSS programme we are all waiting patiently for :))
