@Oldfart91 "If Exxon is the JV partner, they already have a history together which would certainly help our cause. I would prefer that IF the JV materializes with a major then I hope the MAJOR get controlling interest of developing the field. Art and his "I've been an oil man for xx years" thing is getting old and clearly hasn't done much good with the exploitation of our current reserves."

It's quite possible that some have known for a few days about the JR being moved to beginning of May and tried to pull the SP down hence the unexpected buying opportunity.
Some were throwing their teddies out the pram last night as if they'd learned that the FSS programme had been delayed for 6 months lol.
Not hard to see that some posters when you look at the way they post clearly have an agenda here...

I agree stokey, I wouldn't be surprised to see that happen either. The update is actually good news because if it were still to go ahead, the extra time to consider ALL submissions would reduce the No Gas Caverns et al of being able to appeal the judge's decision if it still gets that far.
Looks to me like the nimby's are reaching the end of the road now with kicking the can down the road, and at least for now the company can concentrate on the FSS contract which has been the main focus all along.
There have been years of delays for the gas storage project - another 3 and a half months will make not one bit of difference considering we'd
be years away from any revenue from the gas storage anyway.
With so much going on at all 4 yards right now with potentially the FSS contract to be signed and sealed any day now and potentially revenues of £115M projected for 2023 not including a single penny from the MOD contract, it's all looking very good indeed!

Well thankfully we don't need to rely on "the City" for funding or for propping up the SP. We have huge revenues coming to Harl courtesy of a government contract for potentially the next 10yrs and that's just one contract soon to be signed and sealed. And plus there is the "Home Shipbuilding Credit Guarantee Scheme" to help ......

"The government has confirmed its intention to launch a new Home Shipbuilding Credit Guarantee Scheme by the end of the year. The scheme, designed for domestic operators, is intended to encourage more UK builds by underwriting lending in partnership with commercial lenders."

So all this talk of "The City" is imo irrelevant.

In the grand scheme of things, given the huge size of the contract about to be awarded (which with MOD contracts is a formality imv) does it really matter if it came first or second week in Jan as opposed to this week or next week?

Given the sheer size of the contract, the £77M will likely come from an upfront payment (once contract award confirmed) or maybe even through the Home Shipbuilding Credit Guarantee Scheme which the govt confirmed would be in place before the end of 2022.

IMEL plan to sell gas back to mainland uk. Cost of infrastructure to do that - circa £60m . Will UK TAXPAYER pay for that too ??? "

If we were going off the house comparison we'd only have the bloody garage left lol such has been the amount of shareholder value created or even lost.
But don't fret I have a billion barrels of oil below ground right underneath the garage, I'm just waiting for a guy called Ryan Scott to come out and take a look and I'm looking to partner up with my wealthy next door neighbour but I can't say which one as it's confidential! ;)))
