Hi affirm...
I hear what you say but MMs are in business to make money, like you or me...
They only do so by buying or selling shares...often selling shares they don't have and buying them in lower down...
For as long as there is no liquidity and no sexy news they can mainly stimulate volume by push
They don't 'manipulate' shares.
If they have a big buy or sell order, they will 'manage' their part of the market until the order is completed. At current daily volumes of 3.8 million shares, an institutional buying order of, say 50 million shares could take weeks to complete, whereas for ATYM for example the equivalent value coukd be acquired in 3 or 4 days...
So when you say "It should have hit around 20p with that news."
The news stimulated volume of 93 million shares in 5 days...FIVE TIMES the normal daily volume...
But then the profit taking set in and the shares fell back as the shares fell 19% on volume of 88 million shares, presumably mostly sales...
Which is why we need incontrovertible, meaningful good news such as the $900 million copper offtake...then you would see a surge of buying probably much more than July, maybe to 14p or more, until the inevitable profit taking and weaker holder selling butes again...
But I would expect much better liquidity after that until the first bid arrives, when volume and the SP will BOOM...
