Juvenescence Announces Licensing Agreement with Evgen Pharma plc

I’m quite please that FFWD released an RNS based on the aforementioned Juvenescence deal with Evgen. It’s a particularly effective non pharmaceutical treatment.

Not sure how familiar you are with Jims other companies but if you haven't had a chance to familiarise yourself with Intensity Therapeutics i'd recommend reading up on it. Theyre currently at stage 2 human trials in combinations with Mercks Keystone Keytruda drug. Intensity INT-2306.

Evgen’s pipeline is based on their proprietary Sulforadex® technology. Sulforadex®, is a means of synthesising and concurrently stabilizing sulforaphane (and synthetic sulforaphane analogues). Sulforaphane is a naturally occurring compound found in broccoli, cabbage and other brassica, although pure sulforaphane is an unstable oily liquid, which needs to be stored at -20C.

A significant and growing amount of academic research has demonstrated multiple potential medicinal uses of sulforaphane, however this work has been conducted either with frozen botanical extracts containing unstable sulforaphane, or ambient temperature botanical extracts containing glucoraphanin, the chemical precursor of sulforaphane. Despite the continued academic interest, the inherent unstable nature of sulforaphane has prevented any meaningful progress towards commercial clinical development.

Five patients who participated in the STEM trial received SFX-01 treatment for more than one year, with no tumour progression.

Significant progress was made in tablet formulation of SFX-01, that would underpin easier clinical use in a range of indications and yield economic and production benefits.

Memorandums of understanding were reached with Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust, the University of Dundee and the University of Rochester in New York, to support clinical trials of SFX-01 in autism, non-alcoholic steatohepatitis and chronic kidney disease, respectively.

I'm really interested in the Evgen deal as I've been researching Prostaphane which appears up til now to only be available for sale in France. Does anyone here know why it isnt freely available in that kind of purity in the UK and can Evgen fill that space?

North West drug development company Evgen Pharma has clinched a licensing deal worth an initial £8m, with more payments further down the line.

Evgen, which has bases in Wilmslow and Liverpool, has signed the deal with Juvenescence for its sulforaphane stabilisation technology in a number of non-pharmaceutical applications.

In particular, Juvenescence intends to market and sell a high-end nutritional health product containing a defined dose of sulforaphane extracted from natural sources.

Under the terms of the license agreement, Evgen will receive milestone and option payments of up to £8m and will also receive royalties on future product sales.

Evgen is developing sulforaphane-based medicines, known as SFX-01, for the treatment of breast cancer and multiple other diseases.

Sulforaphane is a sulfur-rich compound found in vegetables like broccoli.

However, trials could show that it can help to alleviate respiratory problems in patients, commonly known as ARDS, or acute resipiratory distress syndrome.

This condition affects many COVID-19 patients.

The agreement with UK company Juvenescence monetises one element of Evgen’s sulforaphane technology platform within a timescale considerably shorter than that typical of pharmaceutical development.
