The only increasing the institutional shorts are doing is increasing their exposure to a bet that can implode on any day at any time with a positive update from PFC.

My account must have been hacked by Guinness to make such a statement - always stay invested but add and trim. Rule of thumb is to trim at 25% move (99% of the time) as there usually is a buy back lower but yes, did not expect the 25p again so good call to G as I have said before.

Cannot see any fat ladies singing yet, so the show is not yet over.

Sandwich maker Greencore shares soar 25% after profit upgrade

Greencore, the UK’s largest sandwich maker, has been able to raise its annual profit forecast as the popularity of “food-to-go” endures despite inflation and increasingly cost-conscious consumers.

The upgrade sent the Dublin-based group’s shares surging as much as 25 per cent to 86.25p on Tuesday following the unscheduled trading update.

By Stephen Wright. After an 80% decline since its IPO, I think Dr. Martens (LSE:DOCS) are good value. There are two reasons why the stock has been falling – weak consumer demand in the US and bad execution of its online business.

The risk is that this could continue for some time. But with management guiding for revenues declines in 2024, I think a lot of bad news already baked in and the stock looks attractive – that’s why I’ve been buying it.

I also think the market is mispricing the possibility of an interest rate cut in the US this year. If that happens, consumer spending might improve more quickly than people anticipate.

I don’t know whether the stock has reached its low point yet. But I do know that it’s reached a level where I think the shares looks very attractive from a valuation perspective – attractive enough for me to have bought, anyway.
