The latest Investing Matters Podcast episode featuring Jeremy Skillington, CEO of Poolbeg Pharma has just been released. Listen here.
Does anyone know where we are with the Waste tip permit application or is George waiting again until NRW have dealt with the dewatering extension. Wasn’t that the excuse he gave last time for not submitting the waste tip application, because it would delay NRW granting the dewatering permit. I think we can all guess how this goes now, just submit all the upcoming permits together because I don’t think NRW could be any slower.

I think everyone feels as frustrated as you and it’s difficult to predict what we will be able to do over the winter months. I’m afraid it’s very much in the hands of the useless NRW.
Still unsure where we are with the waste tips as well.
Let’s hope the Pea next week will tick us up a bit ??

This seems to be common practice with NRW. They can take up to 3yrs in giving a final decision. There was a programme on Tv concerning a well known water bottling company in Pembrokeshire, now owned by Nestle, which had to wait 3yrs for a permit. Nestle are a huge company and even they couldn’t get NRW to make a decision any quicker. And this was what the programme was all about, highlighting the length of time NRW take on such matters.
So I’m afraid we will just have to wait a bit longer
Fishfaced !,
Maggie Thatcher didn’t destroy the mining. Ted Heath had to agree to give up the coal industry to allow UK to join the common market. He was given 10 years in which to do so, which is when Maggie came to power. So in 1984 the mines had to close.
Gary,
Talk about stating the obvious. We all know that, and it was the typical answer I would expect. However what for sure annoys everyone is that although they are an exploration company which we’ve all heard a hundred times, it doesn’t entitle them to drag this out for as long as possible.
Hunter,
Alba are forever seemingly carrying out some assessment or feasibility study or formulating some kind of plan or considering some kind of economic assessment before considering a formal application !!
But apparently all these things are being done in the correct order as it’s supposed to. Never mind the glaring fact that all these things could and should have been done a long time ago. It’s almost laughable…..
Scotalba,
I applaud your endless optimism, some would say you go too far in endlessly defending Alba or that you are naive. Either way that’s your opinion which is every bit as important as anyone else’s.
Reading comments on here seems like some are desperate and are on occasions every bit as bad as the de rampers. It’s been 12 months since it was refused and although NRW move at an inexcusable pace, I still feel Gf/ Alba must accept some responsibility as well in this endless saga.
What will be will be and I like you hope we get the dewatering permit granted so that we can move on !!
