@GingetheWinge Avacta are well funded and on the verge of a major rerate upwards. Should be an interesting few weeks ahead. You could be right, to list a few of the previous neg comments:

- no lateral flow test, Avacta produced a test
- not accurate enough, it is now the most accurate test in the world
- not enough data, extensive data and a paper published on Affidx
- no test distributors, Bioserv and Calibre are selling
- test production capacity non existent, we know that Affidx has been
- FAPa extensively distributed in the body, we know that it is highly focalised in the tumour microenvironment
- Medusa19 have quit, we know that they are raring to go, they are distributing brochures at events

I have to agree with Myles on this one, he states:

We're possibly days away from two of the most significant RNSs in @avacta's history:

1) granting of CE Mark for self-use in the EU, for #AVCT's #COVID19 LFT;

2) dose escalation in the AVA6K (targeted chemo) Phase 1a trial: would be a positive indicator of proof of concept.

This comes when:

For 1) a fourth wave of #COVID19 builds across Mainland Europe - the precise market in which #AVCT awaits Home Use Authorization for its best-in-class LFT.

For 2) there's a global cancer crisis, caused by #COVID19 taking up so much healthcare bandwidth.

And for both, the signs are extremely encouraging:

For 1) @medusa19_ has been marketing #AVCT's LFT at international diagnostic trade shows, telling potential customers that grant of HUA in the EU is imminent. There's also reason to believe that M19 has significant proprietary manufacturing capacity in Wirral (rumors of 20m+ per month). As the premarketing brochure revealed it has rebranded #AVCT's AffiDX LFT, as "MeduFlow", it stands to reason that M19 would use this capacity (if it does indeed exist) to manufacture its own test.

It seems we're looking at a licensing agreement, with a royalty on sales due to #AVCT, or else a profit share arrangement.

Recall that #AVCT has lined up manufacturers (excl. M19) in the UK and abroad that could ultimately produce 33m to 35m tests per month.

Latest guidance given by #AVCT was €1 to €2 gross profit per test.

For 2) Today, the first patient in the first cohort ('C1') of the AVA6K trial is due to receive their SIXTH dose. We likely would have heard of a pause in the study, had things not been going to plan.

Moreover, we've had two additional hospitals start recruiting patients since the trial commenced.

And of course, #AVCT's CEO said in the 30 Sept investor presso, "we're very pleased" with data so far, and that "I've given positive guidance".

The controller of a working pre CISION platform could become a major (or dare I say, THE key) player in the $60bn per annum chemotherapy market.

So why the horrible weakness in #AVCT's share price, at a time when one would assume it should be sitting at or near, all time highs?

Simple: the market does not believe in @avacta, because of missed deadlines over the passed 18m.

But if you can perceive WHY everything has taken so long - and how #AVCT has developed in that time - then you'll appreciate one of the market's greatest valuation disconnects.

@Yorkshirepragma, I agree, it is good news that they are getting this information out. They are clearly still positive about Affidx and are waiting for the DHSC to respond.

As there has been a lot of confusion on the BB today, I thought it best to clarify the two submission results that Avacta are awaiting for the Affidx test. To new comers the information is as follows:

A self test submission was made by Medusa19 referenced by Alastair Smith (CEO, Avacta) during the investor meeting end of September indicating that the submission was made a long while back.

Secondly, there is a desktop review made by Avacta to the UK Gov (as per the new CTDA Regulations), it was submitted on time ahead of the 1 September 2021 deadline. DHSC aimed to have the results of the review within 20 working days. The expected response was by the end of September, however, once again the Government are running late - it is now 60 days since the submission date and it has taken three times longer than they suggested and not a single company has been processed bar the 3 they originally accepted.

We'll find out the outcome in due course whenever the DHSC decide to put more people on the case and release the results.

Some are bringing up the authenticity of a brochure from the Medusa19 attendance at the trade fair event. Is it genuine? It's been verified by Avacta and will be confirmed further by others in the coming days. We can always circle back to the posts that claim it to be fake or not.

Since last year we have been in a pandemic, but what is different this year? The important differences are that the majority of the population are double jabbed and the diagnostics and therapeutics industry have created exceptional products to fight against covid-19. Furthermore companies like CINE have adapted their cinemas and working policies to create a safer environment and combined with the use of protective equipment, the challenges against c19 have been met head on. Although the virus may not go away for a long time, cinema as we know it is here to stay and the recent Cineworld results demarcated the turning point for the better.

Despite there being c19 challenges, "Jefferies analysts said that Cineworld is well-placed to capitalize on people returning to cinemas, as its main markets seem keen to avoid further lockdowns. The company gets 90% of its revenue from vaccine-advanced nations U.S., UK and Israel."

That means that where it matters the most, Cineworld are covered and one would expect a strong return to the cinema and rebound to the highs of 2019. From the current share price, that is an exceptional return on investment. You will read many ill educated suggestions of where we are in the pandemic and will relay doom and gloom, but reality is very different. The future is bright for cinema and Cineworld.

One advantage of having one of the best tests in the World, is that during the filtering out process, the less accurate tests will be eliminated from use. This was the purpose of the CTDA. To recap, the application process (1), does take time and the desk review is slightly complicated:

a) check for completeness
b) initial review by a scientific advisor
c) peer review of above
d) presented to the Desktop Review Assurance Group

Once step d, is complete, I'd expect the results to the announced the following day, so Thursday/Fridays most likely day. However, keep in mind, that this could also be a Monday. My view is that the temporary tests will only be useful if there is a manufacturing capacity shortage of CTDA approved LFT tests.

It's not long now for the applications made by Avacta and Medusa19 to be approved and judging by Medusa19's outlook, they seem very confident. Looking like a very interesting week ahead.

@iceman, That's an interesting thought. Jupiter have made a few mistakes in the past and I think there is a possibility that they may close their position. They have previously been very reluctant to admit their mistakes, but certainly if the momentum continues, there will be issues for them in the next few weeks.

Although Sars-Cov-1 (responsible for ‘01-‘04 SARS outbreak) is also a coronavirus, the Sars-CoV-2 (covid-19) has some distinguishing features. The Spike (S) protein (RBD region) found on both virus surfaces, has only 66% homology between the two strains. Compare this to the Nucleocapsid (N) protein that is significantly higher at 90%. But what about mutation rate and genetic variability? Although one would assume that the mutation rate would be higher in the S protein (i.e. present on the surface), this is not the case as the N protein is also party to the transmission and virulence and is as likely to undergo mutation. Future variants of concern could well have mutations in either the N or S protein, but Avacta is well placed as one of the few point of care tests that target the S-protein with high affinity and selectivity. With that in mind, although most tests use the N protein for lateral flow detection, Avacta have done exceptionally well to focus on the S protein with exceptional data to back up their accuracy.

This would be a very strong reason to consider Avacta as one of the best tests in the World.
