The two Nigels had no board experience and were both deeply unimpressive. Both long term Kier employees who had got to their positions by virtue of longevity.
Previous commented said that middle management needs a huge overhaul - completely agree. The company can't move for 'boards' at virtually every level of the business.
Kier property absolutely loaded to the gills with off balance sheet debt, it's also got a huge headcount. Very public sector-like. Lots of fiefdoms and empires being built.
