Exactly the momentum needed......this needs to continue and it will be what gets it over the line. I have seen this before in my dealings with Africa, regardless of what some think and say, the local tribe leaders have more sway than what you may think.....done the right way they will ensure delivery. I'm confident seeing what i have over the last week or so that ratification will happen this year, baring anything left field of course which you always must have at the back of your mind when dealing with most African Governments ! This is all very positive

That's a good shout ewoyaajunction. I've picked up a good chunk theses last couple of weeks, probably a week or so earlier than i needed to make the buys, but glad i'm in in at the levels that i was able to. Sit back now and enjoy the show ......and we know with it being the Ghanaian government, it will be a show !

100% that's what it is, seen it so many times. I think those that have been in last few years or looking on from the sideline wondering, are prepared to give up that initial pop from ratification to be guaranteed that its actually happened and open waters ahead before dipping in , which is totally understandable. I've nit got the baggage and to a degree get business in Africa hence why I've gone in today and last week. Im more than happy at this level

I couldn't agree more.........as slow as this has been moving the last few years it could turn at the blink of an eye - that's doing business in Africa ! Just topped up more myself

Big part of me thinks it would be better if fewer turned up, less to cause havoc and delay. Just the minimum required number may actually help !

This shows how quickly things change over there, and sometimes, well most of the time no logic to it whatsoever. Don't get me wrong i'm not saying we will get ratification anytime soon, however i also wouldn't be shocked to wake up one morning after the 21st to see that we have. We all may not like it, but keep saying...that's Africa for you, especially sub Sahara Africa - some countries worse than others, but all pretty much the same when you scratch beneath the surface. Glad i picked up more this week, i'm standing by that at these levels its a decent gamble i feel - yes still a gamble, but a pretty good one i think

You have to laugh at how most countries on that continent are governed - not surprised 1 tiny little bit with this, and in all probability will be over something trivial - most of Africa for you ! The flip side is there could be an announcement anytime saying all sorted, reconvening and we get ratification in a week !! And no, i'm not saying that will happen, just saying it wouldn't shock me if it did. Ahhhhhhh Africa, no place like it !

Yep, fair point. Although i do think next sitting will be telling, i feel a decision one way or the other will be made fairly soon after reconvening. I like the fact China is putting pressure on the sector, and obviously i like the fact prices are improving.

Sheriff89 summed it up perfectly. Hoping this stays at current levels for another month to allow me to scoop up more in advance of the Ghana government reconvening in October

I'm hoping for a quiet month or so tbh, hoping this keeps bouncing round this level or even drop a little more. I will have some more funds available towards end of September/early October and will be increasing position here. What's going on with the Ghana Government doesn't surprise or worry me in the slightest at this point.

ThetaDecay, my reference to the regional leaders was more the pressure they will apply, and they will apply pressure, and significant pressure depending on the size of their region . Obviously as you rightly comment, the final say is further up the chain, however the regional leaders do hold a lot of power and influence. That said I do also agree with your comment with regard China, they will push for as much as they can get out of Ghana like they have over the last 20 years in many African countries, most going under the radar. The chief as loyal and vocal in their support for Atlantic now will be like almost all African power people and will be swayed by money. Whether there has been a behind the doors deal done already with China for Ewoyaa, no idea, personally I don’t think so, but I also wouldn’t be surprised if one had. My comment yesterday wasn’t meant to come across as pumping Atlantic, just more a “ this is just Africa” comment – it is a region where it is back door dealings, a lot underhand and money (brown envelopes) talks. How things pan out in Ghana as one of the more stable African countries will be interesting to see, especially with the Chinese influence – will the rest of the world wake up to this, what China is doing in Africa, which personally i think is smart on their part

It will be the regional chiefs that push things like this through, them keeping up the pressure. Its just how it is - yes it may well drag, the flip side is you may well wake up to something totally out of the blue tomorrow, it really does operate that way as hard as it is to believe, and unless you witness it 1st hand you will never get your head round it, i still don't at times now after all these years !
