Agree Arok, very risky on their part if that's their plan, or anyone elses if they are waiting to make a late in the day bid. I've resigned myself to the fact the current offer will go through, unfortunately. If something better received then that really is a bonus is the way i'm viewing this now. I do think we've been screwed over, but we're not the 1st and wont be the last, especially in this sector and region

That is the an area that does confuse me a little as well unluckyme, albeit the cynic in me thinks a ploy on their part as it does open the door for them to get far cheaper than they had previously bid.....come in late in the day and be seen as the saviour by bidding a few pennies more which at that point shareholders may well be inclined to vote through?? All about timing for them, go with a cheeky low ball bid too soon and it may put shareholders off completly, go in cheeky at the right time late in the day and thats a different story. Either way them accepting the 18.8p bid may well be a shrewd move on their part

I do agrtee with you Unluckyme, however perosnally, i feel they were proably put under pressure by the Ghanain government to accept "an offer" to at least show this is moving forward, keep the locals happy ! The length of time attached does suggest there was a compromise though - "ok we will proceed with this initial offer so long as you dont pull anything and you allow us to attach a reasonable timeframe to the deal that will keep all parties happy and that could allow for other other bids to be received and considered" kind of acceptance by the board for me. It keeps everyone happy apart from longterm shareholders if it tanspires that this is the only offer received and it goes ahead - unfortuntaly always the ones that suffer in situations like this arent they.

And correct me if im wrong, we were discussing last week potential AUD v GBP fx volatility over next 6 months as what we need to consider..............its actually a US$ sale price that's been agreed isnt it

............and there is FX movement between now and then to consider, so 18.8p isnt guaranteed even if it does all get voted hrough

......and the war is a current event, ongoing and who knows how much longer it will go on for. You cant dismiss the "here and now facts". And its actually not just based on the war, go back to May last year and you're looking at 11%. It's not marginal, simple as

If this bid has been accepted, just think how low ball the pre-rat bid must have been, unless of course it isn't just the same bid simply rehashed, although depending on who you listen to on here how could there possibly have been such a low ball cheeky bid made......hmmmmmm ! Anyway my take is, for what it's worth, there will be another play(s) here, unless there have been "deals" made with directors to incentivise them to roll with it at this level, which personally i really dont think is the case but i guess we are dealing with a mix of mining, africa and the chineese here so must at least be considered🤷‍♀️! @Sheriff89 i thought i'd seen an increased target price but couldn't be sure - makes it even worse, them now advising on accepting an 18.8p offer!! But hey is what it is and i do think more to come here, although i am fixing in my head it's 18.8p with anything on top being a bonus now

@chislehurst, you did read the adviser part of the news yesterday right .........? That's the point i was making yesterday, Canaccord up until alst week had a price target of 37p i think

Agree Not2Sure.....what yesterday has done without question is lower that buyout bar considerably, whoever may ultimately be the successful bidder. Previous bid of 33p (did someone say about 27p in current money post dilution) in my eyes now is top end target. I get they had very little choice, but the potential buyout bar now is considerably lower than most were expecting/hoping even just a week ago. The joys of dealing in AIM listed companies i guess, one day the moon, next maybe just the Caribbean lol
