Gordon Stein, CFO of CleanTech Lithium, explains why CTL acquired the 23 Laguna Verde licenses. Watch the video here.
"Mineral Resources (ASX:MIN) is targeting the European and US market in its downstream lithium ambitions, planning to sell an intermediary sulphate to the West after repudiating a deal to share in Albemarle’s processing plants in China.
The company surprised investors last week by restructuring its lithium JV with Albemarle for the umpteenth time, selling its 15% stake in the Kemerton hydroxide plant in WA and ending an arrangement to take on 50% of two plants with a 100,000tpa hydroxide processing capacity in the Middle Kingdom.
But MinRes head honcho Chris Ellison, who has targeted incentives and financial support from the Federal Government to build downstream lithium processing capacity in Australia, has signalled his intent to supply the US and Europe directly as OEMs build electric vehicle production onshore."
https://stockhead.com.au/resources/ground-breakers-minres-boss-lets-loose-on-downstream-lithium-plans-goldies-red-5-westgold-perseus-reporting/
"MinRes said on 20 July 2023 that its February 2023 agreement with Albemarle had been revised. MinRes’s share of the Wodgina lithium mine will still increase to 50%, from 40%, as previously agreed, but its interest in the Kemerton lithium hydroxide conversion plant will now decrease to 0% (15% previously), from 40%, under the revised terms. Albemarle will now pay MinRes an estimated USD380 million-400 million (AUD550 million-580 million, against AUD150 million estimated previously) of net consideration for MinRes’s interest in Kemmerton and adjustments at Wodgina."
"Albemarle will continue converting MinRes’s share in Wodgina spodumene concentrate under a tolling arrangement until 30 June 2024, but MinRes will then market its own spodumene concentrate and lithium battery chemicals. MinRes will also not invest the estimated USD660 million in conversion assets in China jointly with Albemarle and will search for opportunities to build its own facilities. MinRes expects the arrangements, which are subject to the Foreign Investment Review Board’s approval, to be completed in the December quarter 2023."
We estimate Albemarle’s payment of AUD550 million-580 million will result in MinRes’s EBITDA leverage declining to 0.7x-0.9x in the financial years ending June 2025"
"We also believe that MinRes’s decision on exiting the agreement to develop processing facilities jointly with Albemarle is likely to create more uncertainty around its ability to convert its rising production of spodumene concentrate to lithium battery chemicals in the future due to limited availability of external conversion facilities worldwide, as it ramps up its Wodgina mine. In combination with the termination of the tolling agreement with Ganfeng announced in June 2023, this adds uncertainty to MinRes’s plans to increase volumes of lithium battery chemicals."

Blackstone equity are very much involved in battery tech through Blackstone Resources.
Most probably nothing but when ALK TVL are pretty much stuck at finance this naturally leads to gossip ?
Thanks WiseOwl.
Got my first propper neuro next week so hopefully will finally talk to someone with experience. GP cant do much with the weapons he is allowed.
MIGRAINES daily.
NAUSEA daily.
VISION changes by the hour.
CANT THINK , as I say its like dementia at times.
Did 20 mins lowest level on excersise bike. Neurophsyotherapist told me off yesterday.
With Long Covid do not excersise. Fatigue underlying.
Everyhour go to bed for 10 mins with eyemask and ear plugs. Nothing to "boom or bust" the brain.
Back to ALK , weirdly I listened to PA on Sunday Roast online - i can lay down and listen to it which helps - but he sold it to me.
There's been very little news or progress but the fact that the shares in issue is still only around 8m of which he holds 35-38% something like that and he is not raising cash on the back and watering down our holdings even in these bleak world times seems quite positive. Famous last words !
Cornish Lithium / CUSN / British Lithium all needing UK cash and at times the media alerts us to difficulties in raising, very little has been said about ALK.
The area in Tees Valley is getting some stick and some positive investment too, but thats the whole area not ALK specifically.
One big finance bond or a UK Gov pledge - although PA has actively tried to stear clear of these Gov incentives believing in market funding, it would be nice to see the £100m promised to BritishVolt but not given, dropping in at ALK TVL ? Never look a gift horse in the mouth. Doubt it will happen but equally he seems focused on getting market money and being patient.
One big bond and ALK sp takes a natural step up.
I wanted to retire this summer, but with my 2 years of Long Covid on top my need is even greater, yet I feel happy to wait for a year if we can get £5.00+.
Techmet.
EV Metals ( Johnson Matthey EV program ).
Worth following their money.
Lon covid 2 years + and the last two months signed off with daily migraines , nausea , burning fingers, stomach problems due to reservoir of virus in the gut. No remedy.
I vant stomach doing all the research nowdays.
Just bought £4,000. Maybe be a bit of UK Gov "electionloving" Tory cash could start the mezanine funding ball rolling ? Sunday Roast with PB is a great listen from near 3 weeks ago.
Wanted to see positive movement before putting more cash in.

The biggest graphite supplier outside of China.
Thats like trying to set up a deal with Albamerle or Pilbara Minerals or Rio Tinto in size as assets both African BUT ALSO USA Graphite !
Was 79p this week. Suggested time if you are positive to average down, hmmm. Looks like the news of support for bridging loan is backing that the market likes not us mere mortals.
Interesting times. Waiting waiting waiting...
Some very good points on both the good and bad.
The BV factory shambles at the start of 2023. That shook confidence in the area and most probably lost ALK a customer?
I would like the S American lithium supply deal to come forward and be proven up ?
The UK needs this tech either graphite or lithium to feed anode supply.
I would like to see some price support from the top down but I guess at around the high 40's % holdings of the CEO's it could push them over the total for having to issue buyout or not rns.
Once British Lithium or Cornish Lithium ramp up towards proven scale up then we still must wait for PA to prove his worth.
If you believe then its a good time to average down.
"December 2023: China starts graphite export controls.
January 2024: USA tax incentives commence to limit Chinese materials into electric vehicles.
Suddenly major Chinese suppliers can’t sell to the US anymore.
US car makers can’t buy from them anymore."
Is this our turning point ? Time will tell.

well timed imho. much the same opinion.
With Christmas NY now out of the way and the City back to work, plus the summer holiday break in Australia with another 4-6 weeks before their markets really get back to fully functioning.
Australia will have a big hand here so it is important to recognise these periods of market trading globally.
S American interest too will see their markets also having summer breaks now and back by mid Feb.
The current price here is now around that raising price of £1.00. NOTE 9th Jan 2023.
Tees Valley Lithium another venture partner in building and chemically processing / recycling lithium.
"The Eurodia Group’s solutions serve to…
• Extract and purify lithium salts from various raw materials: salt-flat brine, geothermal waters, oil-well drilling water.
• Recover lithium and other metals of interest (NMC / Ni Mn Co) for processes to manufacture or recycle electric batteries.
For these industries, our processes combine adsorption, filtration, electrodialysis and ion-exchange resin technologies to remove impurities (magnesium, sulfates, sodium…) and recover, as required, brine rich in lithium salts or lithium hydroxide by means of bipolar electrodialysis."

Established near Aix-En-Provence, the EURODIA group employs around 100 people working in France, in two subsidiaries respectively located in Napa, CA USA (Ameridia), and in Sao Paulo, Brazil (EEDB).
So South American connections ?
