Has the SP price bottomed at around 280p ... So little progress in the price in the last 3 years considering the reported improvement in the banks debt iissue ... This said Barclays, Lloyds and RBS have not been an inspiration considering one would think working with money supply would produce more profits that those having to sell a range of products .. Money goes to money as they say... Obviously this is not the case regarding the SP prices of the banking sector in recent years ... Question is will next months annual report season generate any improvement ... Will 300p be achievable by then... Seems strange that after 4 years of alleged improvement involving Billions the RBS SP has hardly moved to reflect the improvement reported ... Meanehile uncertainty as always dominates ...

Yes ... Another hit by the big C .. It is still a high loss of life by this ...

I would say decades of reduced UK productivity and reducing exports that have followed .. While growing imports and more dependence on other countries for our needs is now embedded in our culture .. Reversing this long trend would be big ask.. Even more so with foreign companies and money buying up or into more of UK businesses and services .. Our reliance of allowing so many foreigners to run and build so much of UK infrustructure ... Makes one think is the UK incapable of determining our own destiny and being more self sufficient in coming years.. The countless reports of we need foreign money and foreign workers to run and be an asset to the UK .. Is indecating that we do not have the money, or ability or the logic to be able to cope with our needs required on our own.. I wonder what the next 25 years will impact on the UK if this increasing reliance of others trend continues.. Food for thought ... Will UK exports ever beat UK imports ever again.... ATB..

What a bad start to the year for RBS, now 130p down on the February high of last year A bad years start for makets in general .. Bleak seems a general term for so many things if the media news is to be believed... So much uncertainty in the world is not a good thing... I see M & S clothing sales are poor again, it is a repeat of many past quarter reports .. House insurrance will no doubt increse to pay for flooding claims .. Hopefully things will get better for RBS this year or a repeat of last year may see nearer 200p ... If that happens the stockmarket will be hit along with pensions ect, ect. Uncertainty creates more uncertainty along with changes and more problems .. And many plans go out of the window.. Stability is hard to maintain or achieve.. Many baby boomers born before 1955 are in a better position to weather the current times.. Those average workers under 30 years it must be a lot different and harder now to when I was that age.. Let's hope the weather improves and also world issues as well ATB

At a social evening over the Xmas period a few of us men away from our wife's had a small discussion .. One person said a few things that made a few of us think... Basically he said, what if the future of the stockmarket and public investing is going through a change and as world debt constantly increases, could it impact on pensions and investing in general. Will housing go into some recession as increasing prices create unstainable future debt .. So many business on a constant strive to cut costs... Will the Internet in the next 15 years create a loss of 10% of the current UK retail shops.. The financial impact of constant cost cutting in businesses and the public flocking to Poundland and other increasing cheaper stores and shops that are slowly changing the shopping revolution of buy in cheaper outlets and have more and more delivered be it .. food and general retail ..

Lets hope you maybe right.. A complete change in sentiment is needed..... China appears still on the retreat as is Oil prices.. and no Xmas Rally happened ... are the markets waiting for something to happen...if so ..what... Normally some shops and businesses feel the pressure after the Xmas shopping stops ..See what the end of this month brings.. even the up and down volatility of the RBS SP has slowed down...like the previous past few years.... Probably entering a new era of change with the start of this year.. trouble is a new era of what.. with several things in the UK pipeline....

The Dow down over 480 points... CNBC says it is the worse start to a year for 84 years...

With all the UK and world problems... It could be poor year in prospect on many fronts.. Don't know if 250p is likely, but may well be a possibility.. The amount of reported increasing debt does not bode well for better things to come...

Happy, Healthy and Prosperous 2016 to you all... Well Jings it has been another year in 2015 to ad to the past 3 years of the SP starting the new year in the 30p old money or 300p now... after all the past 4 years of troubles and tribulations of good and bad news here or abroad. Remember say the same this time last year, and the SP shot up to 412p and then a slow relentless drop over 10 months to around 280p .. I said I hoped it would rally back to 300p by the end of 2015 and father Xmas did so... for what of any other reason... 2016 starts again with a blank sheet of paper... and with so little conviction of anything more positive than last year to bite on... the first point of interest is the next months Yearly Results announcement.. as like previous years posting to say it should be better this year has not reflected in a rise in the SP and achieved a fixed and sustained higher level ... Thus we are still around the same price as 3-4 years ago... thus sustained progress on the SP price has been Zero... Money as per the last 4 years seems to have been made purely on the volatile nature of the share price and not so much of the reflection of any growth of the company getting back to normal... The UK is now more a encouraged debt ridden place to the average paid worker under 25 years.. buying a home is now harder every year since the 2007 bank crisis for Mr average .... creating the BTL rental market which is now it self coming under pressure of affordability to more each year to rent.....and any BTL tax changes on the way..... Will 2016 be a better financial year for Mr Average ..I doubt it as the first increase in the new year is the annual Train Fare increase announcement..... I suppose the Migration and Terrorist issues will dominate this year again The USA election being another issue.. As always just my opinion ... Good Luck All...

Good post .. But we seem to be saying simular for the past couple of years.. Hopefully this year you may well be right.. 25% rise is a big ask but not impossible... A 10p rise a month for 10 months, less a couple pull backs for unknown issues, then a few profit taking sessions along the way then allow a downturn in the market and then a little rally, and then takeaway 5% and then add 50 we maybe back up to 375 by next Christmas ... If the weather is not too hot .. lol..

I posted ...( Makes one wonder why the SP has dropped 25 % since Feb this year at the high of around 4.12p. ) which is what most people investing are concerned about... Regarding .. the law is there to deal with people... if you do a racist thing or something drug related or drink drive or whatever... you get are likely to be hit by the law ... sadly if money is involved Tax Avoidance with money taken out of the country by individuals and company Tax Avoidance by using parent companies abroad and the banking crisis that some banks changed many peoples lives is unbelievably legal... even though Billions a year is probably lost in tax revenue to the UK.... To just say it is legal to do it does not make it right... if people are getting away with something that the majority cannot avoid ... then change the law.... Osborne says he will .. but sadly won`t. as yet. ..there is the issue .. why..? The amount of money going out of the UK because the legal system allows and encourages it must be horrendous... along with foreign buyers of our companies taking money out of the UK via our legal system .. So much of this appears to going on for the past 20 years if countless media and TV news reports are to be believed..... A lot has happened since MT started... house prices have risen totally uncontrolled ever since... from affordability to unaffordability for many.... along with rising debt.... We all have our own point of view of how things in the UK have gone during the past 30 years...... depending on your age, location and financial situation...

I see the SP went through the 300p mark up 4 points in the first 3 mins of the opening this morning, only to fall back below again by 8.10 am. The fact things we have been told things are getting better with RBS and the government saying the economy is better compared to many other countries .. Makes one wonder why the SP has dropped 25 % since Feb this year at the high of around 4.12p. Banks appear to have had a poor year in general in the UK for whatever the many reasons that have been reported during the past 10 months .. A bank To loose 25% of its market value in a year makes you think that maybe things in general may not be as good as reported in the UK . How long it will take to get back to the 400P mark again does not look very encouraging in the current UK climate... As I said recently 2016 could well be a very interesting year on many issues... At Home, Europe and Worldwide... Purely my own opinion

My heart goes out for those affected by the floods ... We have had so much flooding the past 10 years in the UK It makes you think is the weather changing that much..had no mentionable snow fall in Great Yarmouth the past 3 years .. I pray Cumbria comes good very soon... My best wishes

Thirty ... Yes many good times in the 70s/80s and not so money orientated to the degree things are today... As you say life goes on... I do have faith, but we live in a world of surprises At least the weather in Norfolk is mild and sunny, little chane of a white Christmas is seems this year... Mind you it has been many years since we did have one in my area.. Keep Smiling ... We may hit 300p on the SP before this year is out...

15 years ago, we had no Twitter, Facebook or IPhones or IPads and on the average wage it could be possible to buy a home.... And little terrorism ... Oh how Times have now changed ... If in the next 15 years interest rates rise along with house prices, averaged workers will be reduced even further in their ability to buy a home ...and the folly of letting the population increase year on year will obviously not improve things .. The basic infrastructure required to maintain basic services for more and more people will not be sustainable ... Recently news of 7000 extra homes are to be built in the Great Yarmouth area by 2030, seems crazy when Great Yarmouth is already on it's knees with low incomes and businesses closing and 20 plus empty shops. With myself having regular recent daily trips to our local hospital it was an eyeopener to how busy it was most of the time. 20 people in A & E was average and available beds stretched to limits I had the unfortunate situation to have to visit 2 different wards a day for 2 weeks .. How this hospital would cope with 7000 extra homes built in the future with an average 2 or 3 people per homes 14.000 to 21.000 more people to added to the local GP surgeries and dentists and more needing A & E. Surely as more live longer a 100 extra beds may well be needed in years to come to cope along with the increased population forecast in the GY area.. How this is replicated around the UK with the government increased house building program... Also 7000 homes can mean 7000 more cars locally .. As the poplation is allowed to increase unregulation then the problems could well increase and probably more of them... I makes one think what it will be like in 15 years time in the UK With 4 to 10 million extra people ... And how many then on some sort of benefits..
