Very sensible suggestion Doc83.
I've emotionally removed myself from this share - in hindsight probably should have done so earlier! Hey-ho.
I do still hope we can come good but the way forward is less clear now.
Bottom drawer it is.
Might still throw a few bob in when the new ISA year starts - but only money I can afford to lose.
There was discussion sometime back that Polar had an average of about £1.50. They offloaded a portion in the region of £1.75-2 so banked some profit.
Off loading more at this price is at a loss but somewhat offset against profits banked and profits from elsewhere!
In many respects, being invested here for so long, this is (almost) the perfect share to trade as you/we are know the share so well, and are very aware when there has been exaggerated buying/selling.
Just need dosh and time - 0/2 for me! ;-)
Fair enough govck.
I can actually see your reasoning here - and time will tell.
Just out of interest, if I may ask, a few months back you said you had 40%of your portfolio invested here
Are you still as invested or have you reduced your holdings?
Selective quote.
Taking that whole paragraph:
“ Due to the need to modify the study design in light of the emergence of the Omicron variant of SARS-CoV-2, the US National Institutes of Health (NIH) ACTIV-2 trial team has asked Synairgen to temporarily pause activities to prepare clinical supplies for ACTIV-2 Phase 3 until the timeline for the activation of this agent in the trial is clarified.”
Note the opening line - need to modify study design
Also note the word “temporarily” BEFORE the rest of the quote “pause activities to prepare clinical supplies”
Read in context - beware those who quote out of context
Speaking for myself, I took RM literally i.e. 'early' to mean Jan/Feb at latest.
But looking at the year as a whole, then yes, early could mean up to end of April.
This is in a large part driven by my lack of understanding why topline data, unblinded from D35 (about mid Dec?) would need to take 3-4 months to analyse.
In any case, tempering expectations now - but fingers still crossed for positive RNS in Feb ;-)
Well, I have certainly got very dizzy from having had my understanding of the primary data unblinding turned around so many times!
The protocol is the gold standard. By that measure, primary data is known to the Sponsor (RM) and the chief investigator (TW) which makes all the very positive signs from the company (massive hiring, website update, including a slap on the wrist to Brooke's husband), very positive signs.
In any case, this share is very much a hold - hold tightly - with the continued hope that news will be sooner rather than later.
I looked back to a reply obtained by a member of the Guild a short while ago. Although there is nothing ground breaking in the reply, I am not publishing the reply in full here, just this section:
"... with clinical development, once a trial closes, a team of researchers, scientists and statisticians quality check the blinded data and conduct their statistical analysis. "
The key phrases for me are - "clinical development", "once a trial closes" and "quality check the blinded data".
That last two phrases strongly indicate data is not unblinded until D90 and the trial closes.
Thank you BG and Ghia for your considered and knowledgeable replies.
You were both clearly trying to address some issues raised by posters - but there are So many geeen boxes - I was curious to see if the green boxes hid valuable discussion that was sensible and balanced. Nope. Green box facility is great!
I agree Sceptik - the TL is significant as support, or if broken, as resistance. But then I value TA. Hard to convince those not so well informed ;-) This BB is obviously not the place for to do that either.
Torny's approach combining fundamentals and TA is, in my view, the best method.
No true, Sceptik.
Torny, Raphaking and myself have used TA every now and again but generally it is not well received.
I now leave it to Torny to continue to inform the TA - though I don't always 'see' what he sees with the charts.
