I agree wholeheartedly that there will be 'some turbulence' in the SP right up until the eleventh hour, but I'd certainly be very surprised indeed if the deal doesn't go through (except if Flybe goes under first due to delays).

The BOD have a responsibility beyond just shareholders... I suspect all parties involved worked very hard to collectively come up with a workable rescue package that would secure the company's future. Obviously shareholders are going to be aggrieved to suffer such a loss, however something is very much better than nothing, which was the most likely outcome without the deal.

I can't see how the news is in any way good?

Any hope that Tinkler might somehow save the day has surely been scuppered by Flybe's clear response:

"The board does not consider that the preliminary proposal offers the certainty required to secure the future of Flybe"

Personally I would have thought it highly likely that the large sells on Friday were savvy holders taking advantage of the currently inflated SP, which is still multiples of the 1p offer.

I agree Kenny - one to watch & potential for a healthy bounce once bottom's in... my son's generation (20s) seem to rate the tech highly which is a good sign, plus major tie-ins etc very promising imho

Nobody is calling you an idiot. Most people with experience of investing have suffered losses and you are very definitely not alone in your suffering. I sincerely hope you are able to come to terms with what has happened here swiftly and in time fully recover your losses.

While I wholeheartedly agree that folk should endeavour to be friendly & respectful at all times and hopefully sensitive to those who have suffered a considerable loss, I strongly believe that it is in everybody's best interest for these boards to have the full spectrum of opinions entirely uncensored. Nobody likes to hear so-called 'negative' views but, for those who consider them on merit, they can often provide the balance to help people more accurately evaluate risk.

Anyone who still holds a position here currently has three times the offer price available to them. Some might argue that legal challenges, potential counter-offers etc promise the potential for an even higher exit but if we want 'sensible' then no one could rationally argue that it is not very high risk indeed. Surely that needs to be heard loud and clear in case anyone is under the illusion there is a 50/50 chance of a positive outcome here?
