However the CE still managed to take £1 million directly out of the (loss-making) business last year. It would be interesting to know the performance criteria for his quartely bonus and to know what his long-term objectives are for the group.

I think it is high time that management updated the market on trading. At end December the company had £4mm in cash. By June it needed to raise a further million. Are the debtors not paying? As for the directors share purchases, I do not call a total of £40k a lot of money. Lets have some news good or bad.

The market reports say this is because of the weak Heathrow traffic figures for March. This has already been explained by the date change for Easter, and reflected in IAG own traffic figures. I think a lot of the fall is due to sales of staff option shares and this should peter out. How about the company going into the market to by some treasury stock?.

Interesting diversity of opinion. FinnCap sell target 345p, Nplus1Brewin sell - 488p, Deutsche buy - 635p, J P Morgan - overweight - 630p. Wonder who's most accurate?.

The EU has granted 20 million euro to Renault to research hybrid technology for its vans. This will presumably involve CAP's technology in view of their association in the past.

OK the share price looks astronomic but I take the view that investors who put up £19 million must have done their homework. This may be a company that in a few years time is a global name. I'm in.

They're the professionals and I have not seen their report. However that implies a market value of c.£60 million. I calculate that If we assume a P/E of 20 that gives earnings of £3 million. If opex and gross margins stay where they are (?) they would need to turnover £45 million to achieve EBITDA of that amount. That appears unlikely for at least two years. Don't get me wrong, I am a holder, primarily because of the technology. It may well be that a bigger player comes along and snaps up the company. For companies like this to stay in business they must generate cash once they are established.

Hi escargot. If you look back through the news there have been scores of these contract wins. The problem seems to be that contract prices and consequently margins do not appear sufficient to cover overheads. Either that or the company has hopes of running at a significantly higher pace in the future.

This is confusing. The company must have good technology, witness the order gains, but the results since floating are static. I am surprised that a company with a product in demand cannot turn a profit on a turnover approaching £30 million. Are they concentrating on the product rather than the returns.

EddC - well done. I think you are both right as there seems to have been a goodish two-way trade and as you say AIM stocks can be very volatile. CLIN's business model looks good so get back in there when you feel the time is right.

Is this just profit-taking or anything more serious?

OK the new CEO has made a start in tackling the pension deficits and cost cutting. Now we need an upturn in trading.
