It would be funny if energy prices were hyper expensive and yet no energy been available.
Forget about the Dollar, Crypto, Gold or any other asset, the world political power these days is measured in energy production. The US may just escape this crisis with its shale gas and fracking, Uk also has massive fracking potential, will they exploit it or will they increase gas storage and sign contracts with foreign producers?
In the end though whatever happens the problem is simple.......we human been are too many on this planet, considering the abilities of our brain, nature will level us out one way or another.

my interpretation of Putin releasing more gas to Europe is as follow:
Please Europe sign long terms contract with Gazprom possibly at these high prices.
If Europe insist to keep their policy to buy at spot prices, I very much doubt that Putin will open all the way the taps..... Also what caused coal price higher is mainly due to China/Australia spat , yes also Europe situation spiked gas prices but is very possible imv that Gas prices would come down while coal prices will remain high.
If all goes well at Richard Bay things will be sorted during the week for when market reopen on Monday, possibly a little sp sell of at star of trading for then bouncing back up. Today coal price on the up again shows that there is some strong support for energy prices, given the current circumstances. The world is opening up and winter is coming......Indeed I am too for prices to stabilize as i wouldn't like them to cause inflation worries

So RB load potential is of 4 ships at 42000/t per hour, assuming one ship is out of line, the remaining 30000/t load
potential at 5 hours/day, 22 days months gives 3.3million tones, more than double Thungela yearly export.
Monday opening is going to be top up time for some.

What a genius!

Out of all the info I am reading the most salient point of all, is that the world has grossly underestimated how much energy is needed, to sustain current social activities.
For example mining crypto currency is just a recent new thing, and is required lots of energy for doing so. But also things like sending a text message or email need energy. Imv we are in unprecedented territory here when trying to forecast world energy consumption and no doubt the pandemic has created an extra unknown.

With main market up and Russia gas story now digested, a blue finish is possible.

Materially nothing has changed, Europe is still short of gas and China of coal.
Many forecast this situations to last till end of winter, which imo will support energy prices at these levels.
On Tga I still believe there should be coming out a trading update, there are many operational questions that need answering and many months to go before next financials. Is likely that the Board of Tga would like to have a bit more visibility on operation and market before any RNS, but surely something before full year financials is due.
On fundamentals and current market Tga sp imo is still set to break the 500p ceiling, unless of course Australia resume export to China. Here a link on coal situation.

don't panic and watch coal price .

..Austarlia is up almost 50% in 2 week. GS recently came out with coal price forecast of reaching $190/t by end of the year, this when Coal was at 130/140.
Higher coal prices contracts further out in the future is a super bullish sign together with gas price today touching new height. I am not happy at coal price keeping increasing exponentially, like many of us unprepared for this event, I think this is creating more fear than greed in the market. But again....prices increasing more for contracts further out in time can only be a confirmation that any possible price retracement would be bought up.
