So you don't think the shorting attacks on GGP's share price - which you outlined here - were orchestrated or sponsored by NCM? Or do you think that is playing fair?

To be honest, I didn't really believe the organised-shorting scenario as outlined by Hydrogen. I did not think rational adults would behave like that in pursuit of an enhanced profit at the expense of their partners.
Evidently I was wrong. Now we know.
The question is, what can we do about it?

This is good news, and shows a welcome sense of urgency.

As I remember, the problem initially was that the oil was thick and did not flow freely. Hence the inability to declare a flow rate. There were suggestions that heating the pipes or injecting steam might resolve the problem, but so far as I know this was never demonstrated. Also it's a little too like fracking.
If this is still the problem , why not say so?

If the Govt clears the license, presumably the next stage will be a placing for £6-8m. to finance the appraisal well.
Since Tony O'Reilly declined that option when he had the cash in his (our) pocket, I don't think I will be subscribing.

I wonder are they half hoping the Greens will put them out of their misery. Then they could embark on a nice long legal case. Rums all round, as another poster is wont to say.

Doesn't say what chemical process or reagents are involved, except that it's cyanide free, which is certainly a bonus.
I hope someone in the relevant local authorities is watching these issues carefully. It will be too late after the waterways have been poisoned.
There are places in the US where the authorities have to employ people full-time with rifles, rattles etc. to drive migrating birds away from the poisoned tailings ponds.

I presume you may be referring to thiosulphate leaching (there is a subscription bar to the publication you cite).
In principle it looks like a more friendly solution than cyanide, though not entirely straightforward in use.
But is that what Conroy are proposing to use? I wonder.

Comparisons with GGP are out of place in my opinion.
It is one thing to contemplate mining by brute force and acid leaching in a bleak and unpopulated area of the Australian outback. It is entirely another to contemplate the same process in rural Ireland, a mile or two from the town of Clontibret.
I really cannot believe this process will be allowed to go ahead once the realities are understood. Where are the county councils? Where is An Taisce? Who wants to live within a few miles of an acid-rich tailings pond? Who will protect the bird life? Is the share price all that matters?

Modern gold mining is a messy business. It is not about panning gold dust out of a mountain stream.
It is about mining and crushing huge quantities of rock, and leaching out the gold traces with concentrated acids. The waste is highly toxic.
I wonder if the people and wildlife of Clontibret know what is about to hit them?

I am glad the board is encouraged by SRRA's reported plans for trials involving SRA737.If I were - which I am not - a person with PARP-inhibitor-resistant pancreatic cancer, I would be asking why the trials will not commence until sometime in 2022. 'Sometime'?Six months' delay is tantamount to a life sentence for those with this disease, and it is already almost six months since we first heard of these plans. Not to mention about five years since they last tested SRA737.How can they justify these delays? It is not as if they are developing the drug, just planning combination trials.

Dead right. We need only one compound to pass its trials, and most of us are rich beyond dreams. Unftly we need only one to fail, and the SP will collapse in a blink. So take your time, boys, don 't rush the final fence. Always better to meet targets, but the result is the important thing.
