The attached piece was posted 10 August, and mentions threats to shut down all the Brits mines on 14 August unless their demands for employment were met.
Evidently the shutdown did take place at BMN, as mentioned in yesterday's RNS.

It would be good to know what the issue is/was with the community activists who caused the plant suspension, and what can be / is being done to resolve it.
I wonder is there a political element?

IT IS easy to see why local management would wish to resolve any interruption to production before notifying the market.
Easy to see, but wrong - because it puts anyone with eyes on the ground (or access to same) in a position to profit massively by shorting. I don't know if that happened on this occasion, but it surely will in future if the occasion should arise again. Better come clean straight away.

The industrial action was entirely predictable. If anyone bothers to spool through my posts, you will find I predicted something like this about a year ago (maybe more). When you are rolling in money, you must expect the people who do the hard and dirty work to want a better share. Hopefully it has now been resolved on an equitable basis.
I would be more concerned about the community action, which is less predictable and maybe not so easily solved. ;Presumably it relates to environmental considerations.

May I suggest a pot of strong black coffee, and come back in September. Or October.

It depends how many lawsuits there are, for one thing.
It seems there may be 19 people, at least, with an arguable case for invasion of privacy. Maybe more.

The question is, what will the business be worth when the present legal process is over.

I hope you are right. Unless there is significant news first, it might not be easy to place a sufficient amount in current climate. Last placing was at 0.7p. Money seems to be very tight generally.

In the long run, a 6 month delay in Sierra's programme will mean nothing if they get it right.
In the short run, however, it raises a question for SAR. Presumably it is now less likely that we will receive a miles/tone payment this year. So does that mean a placing?

Correct. It's not that there is anything wrong, just that a sensible chairman would avoid circumstances where there might be any possible suggestion of anything wrong. So no major developments imminent, however you interpret that word.

If Mrs Parker is considering a purchase of shares in a company of which her husband is Chairman, one would expect her to ask him if there is any reason why it would not be appropriate for her to do so at present. If his answer is 'No reason, dear', that surely indicates that he is not aware of any imminent major development affecting the shares. Which in turn means there is no imminent major development. You can argue about the meaning of 'imminent', but there would certainly be a problem if the shares were to rocket within a month of her purchase.
