With many countries now saying that they want to lead the hydrogen economy (eg Russia, Canada recently), I think this article in a way supports the strategic development of Islandmagee . It shows a proposed European Hydrogen network with potential underground storage facilities identified, with conversion of gas pipelines to hydrogen pipelines etc. It's interesting to see the National Grid perspective as well as UK gas transmission operator "We just see it as a natural transition,...we're carrying gas today and we'll carry hydrogen tomorrow." which I understand aligns with what Infrastrata says wrt the Islandmagee. Hopefully it will get the green light.

I think Infrastrata would see some additional funding supporting investment / employment if Belfast were granted freeport status but it's not clear to me that Belfast has formally applied. Does anyone know, many thanks?
