"Programmatic sounds the way to go" - No they have no choice but to do it, that's the way the industry works, the issues is that "Programmatic" is now like a generic term, to cover the idea, not the functionality itself, Mirriad need an End to End Programmatic Solution.
Measurement has shown the uplift that VPP gives - in TV ads its Ad$1 turns into $7 of revenue from it, with VPP that same Ad$1 turns into $26 - a total no brainer regarding the end outcome.
I'm guessing your still not invested in Mirriad yet, so what is the trigger that will get you to do so ? the "Programmatic Live" announcement / the winning of a Major $10M plus Upfronts deal / or what ?
By the sounds of it, you don't like risk & want the risk to be as low as possible before you invest in anything, if that's the case the reward that will be left here for you to benefit from in time will be much lower, in that case your time might be better spent researching companies with much lower risk profiles, maybe from ones I know about OCN or CNE are more what your looking for.
