If they are convertible bondholders, I guess they make profit by converting when the SP is high or they make a profit by closing the short if the SP is low and keep the bond..

The buybacks stop around the time of the FY financial results and div declaration etc

Market is just a mechanism and Vod is buying 14.5m shares everyday..

In econometrics, these issues are dealt with using quadratic techniques. That still leaves me as an investor in Vod. I will still need my phone to call the emergency services when the purge begins..;-)

The auction conditions should mean lower auction prices. The liberty deal probably will require a remedy to quieten DT and probably a disposal of a legacy consumer business/ platform to balance competition, see Vod Netherlands as an example. Lots to choose from and restructure after years of german acquisitions. The proceeds would pay the spectrum and anyway the cash reinvestment cycle is 7 or 8 years for spectrum across all Vod markets. Probably keep the capital gains tax and transfer pricing bodies busy for a few years...

Jack, I cost averaged down and holding more than originally intended so will need to rebalance at some point. NR and his CFO MDV bought at 165 and the UK CEO sold at 185...?

If c£1.4Bn second tranche mcb and Vod is purchasing c£20m per day, then c70 business days / 14 weeks and completed around mid June...Liberty deal and final ex div!!

If can hold 141 then 149 next.

I think this morning, Brexit and other factors also at play but if I was trading and bought at 131 I think I would have been selling into the trend yesterday and looking to buy on a dip for the same again..

I continue to hold for the div.
