The latest Investing Matters Podcast episode featuring Jeremy Skillington, CEO of Poolbeg Pharma has just been released. Listen here.
Interested to know the location of the stores B&M are interested in. Their strategy has been moving out of high street into cheaper, larger retail park plots in recent years... yet I don't know of many Wilko stores that match
Maybe they want to expand Heron into some of these plots?
B&M European Value Retail is close to striking a deal to acquire scores of stores from administrators to the collapsed chain as hopes of a broader rescue deal falter, Sky News understands.

Q3/Q4 is going to be a pivotal moment for this company. It really could go either way now in my opinion.
I had faith in the board at the start of the year, however, to be truthful things are not looking so great at the moment.
Let's just hope there's some properly clever strategic thinking behind the Hilco financing and this unexpected suspension.
Looks like this ETF is finally catching up with the near record price of Uranium. At least in recent years...
What would be the gameplan for B&M with Wilko? Just take over the store locations and shut down wherever there's a crossover/worse location?
My very first thought when I saw Kohler had quit/resigned was major red flag. 100% he was either asked to resigned or asked to make a major change to his role which resulted in him resigning. (in my opinion)
TT:120 was his baby and he 'owned' that product from the moment it was announced. One can only conclude that TT:120 has failed whatever internal targets/promises Kohler made to his bosses. Possibly the problems reach even wider than TT:120.
Obviously this is only my opinion but its crystal clear to me that something very bad has gone on behind the scenes leading to this major change. Remember, Kohler was THE face of Hornby in recent years.
Good points, spending more time thinking about it the biggest overhead with the in-house e-commerce is going to be the hosting, but actually, it's probably the wages of the people who have to maintain, update & develop that system.
An outsourcing to Shopify probably isn't going to be cheap (probably what they are weighing up right now), particularly if they are going to be managing the system on behalf of Superdry. So the only cost saving could come from the layoffs for what would be the redundant in-house developers/sysadmins.
I guess we will wait and see.
I agree justsomerandom, I think we're starting to see some positive effects from the restructuring.
I noticed the Ipswich store was closed the other week. I'd visited Ipswich for the first time in my life this year & not to be too blunt - Superdry absolutely had zero reasons to be there given the state of the town.
I'm so curious about this Shopify noise...
I saw this article discussing Superdry's apparent discussions with outsourcing their eCommerce sales operation through Shopify (NYSE:SHOP). Wondering what people's thoughts are on this? This would likely come with a higher cost to the current channel and I'm not sure how it would boost online sales as the Superdry website isn't particularly bad.
Shopify are a pretty amazing business in their own right though to be fair.

I have to hold my hands up to the Ferratin review haha. But it's all honest feedback, a perfect experience from my point of view.
I can see other people struggling to do a finger-prick test when they have never done one before. But they do provide two lancets in the kit so you're not totally out of money if you fail to get enough blood with the first one.
I also agree. But can he do it under the radar which is what he seems to be attempting...
Superdry brand is quite powerful, even in the current state of the business.
I went to a fairly large Boots last Saturday but was unable to find anything physically in the stores, apart from the COVID test. I'm wondering if they're waiting for stock.
I'll try and have another look this weekend.
These early sales are positive, particularly for online-only orders. I had already purchased my Iron Deficiency test the day they went live! :)
Next time anyone is thinking of topping up here, maybe hold off £7.99 to help boost those sale figures lol!
Just a repost from Rob the other day. I think it's important to remember these stats:
1 year high = 33p (2.2p pre consolidation)
2 year high = 76p (5.1p pre consolidation)
ATH = 100p (6.7p pre consolidation)
The constant director buys are a very good sign. He clearly believes in restructuring... or the rumours about a takeover plot are based in some kind of reality.
Lloyds would be the next obvious step. A supermarket would be the only thing that could top that.
Following this, I want to hear about NHS tie-ups, partnerships with GPs or private clinics. GP thinks you have an iron deficiency? First step, go to the pharmacy and pick up a MyHealthChecked wellness test before wasting time & resources with the current first step: a blood test.
Party day! Been waiting over two years for this :) I've made my first MHC purchase from Boots this morning! Can't wait to check out some stores to see if they're on the shelves at the weekend

I can imagine a situation where retailers want exclusivity rights to the wellness tests (I think Tesco secured one?). Perhaps that's why the Boots deal is taking longer. I'd prefer we were in both, but Boots is better than Lloyds imo (Lloyds just closed announced the closure of all in-supermarket pharmacies!)
What's worse was on Sunday, there was a period of time where they had left whatever debugging code they have in the production site. So all of the SQL queries were exposed.
Maybe the Boots web dev is a MHC shareholder, just wants to get the bloody thing moving! 😂
You don't accidentally make products live on a retail website like Boots which is controlled by their team. Penny probably had to make a statement due to the rumour, to me it reads as "agreement coming soon" rather than anything else
