Read your post earlier (about the Pampas Grass) which seems to have been deleted along with a few others and I swear I have not reported any of those posts. Perhaps admin took offence to the B word, which I know was not meant to offend anyone and totally justified in the nature of your question.
Last summer I had this elderly chap ask me if I knew how to get rid of the Pampas Grass in his front garden, I told him the only sure way was to dig it all out, tried that he said also poured petrol on it and set it on fire but its grown back even bigger. I laughed and told him the swinger story was probably just a myth anyway, he looked at me blank then asked in all seriousness whats a swinger? The rest of the conversation was quite awkward to say the least.
In May this year the same chap came up to me gushing with pride saying Iv'e done it, its all gone, having established what had all gone he went on to tell me that he had went home and told his wife about the swinger connection and after she googled it told him "I don't care how much it costs you better get rid of it" and refused to answer a knock at the door until it had gone. He hired a man with a JCB and made him dig a huge crater, just to be sure.
Cost him £380 but said it was worth every penny. I felt bad on hearing that he had had so much grief and had to spend so much money on the basis of something I had told him in jest. So the answer to your question is yes I do know how to get rid of Pampas Grass : ))
