Bougouni district has Mali military bases. The trouble in Mali is the geography. Tuaregs are Arab northerners funded by Algeria to a large extent. Southern Mali is predominantly black African Muslim. The whole of Africa was carved out by colonial occupation hence the straight line borders. Mali twice the size of France. Personally I think the Mali military should do a deal with the Tuaregs give them their own country, North Easter Mali, that's mainly a vast Sahael region. Then Mali military would have the power to occupy control their own half of Mali. Peace could be so wonderful!

Mali's army said it was "eliminating the attackers" after "unidentified armed terrorist groups targeted certain locations and barracks in the capital Bamako".

A statement several hours later said the situation was under control but "sweeping operations" were continuing. The terrorist group have been taken massive casualties being no match for Mali military.

“The General Staff of the Armed Forces informs the public that unidentified armed terrorist groups targeted certain locations and barracks in the capital and the interior early this morning, April 25, 2026.

Fighting is ongoing.

We call on the public to remain calm and vigilant.

Our defence and security forces are currently engaged in eliminating the attackers.

We will provide further updates as more information becomes available.

United, we will prevail.

I agree with Compo let the noise play out this year. Sentiment towards Kodal Minerals will eventually change as each passing day Bougouni runs at near nameplate. BA letting the shipments do the talking, stage 2 FID EOY will see a change in dynamics to MC.

Q3 report July will see massive numbers on the balance sheet, Kodal will be even more undervalued!
