Better language to describe DMS market segmentation:
1. Mission-critical, real-time performance & ISO26262 compliant: @seeingmachines (Fovio FPGA), Nvidia (Xavier SoC).Xavier looks almost DoA (30W is too much power for ADAS w/DMS). Volvo may be only OEM win.

2. Non-mission-critical (e.g. HMI, interior cabin sensor etc.) & low performance (frame buffered): Eyeris, Eyesight, Jungo, Smarteye (all run on i.MX8 MCU, TDA3x, Snapdragon, Nvidia Tegra K/X GPUs etc.).

(2) is much easier to design, specify & test than (1), hence why DWs are getting announced earlier. (1) can do functions of (2), but not vice-versa.

Ken has told us that things are taking longer as OEMs are considering how to get DMS in to their plans for all models going forward. As well they have to decide who they will work with, T1 and T2. So hypothetically IF we consider 3 OEM wins by end June and 3 more by end Dec thats 6. Or say 6 sometime this year, thats 11 OEMs for SEE. IF 3 of those are VW/Audi, Toyota and FCA then in terms of volume it certainly could be game over and confirmation that SEE are the number one DMS provider. Remember SEYE will pick up wins where cost is more important than quality/safety. It would be difficult to see the main players choosing anyone else but SEE. This year will tell us a lot but Im very sure the market hasn't a clue yet what is going on. Nor do I believe that many IIs have done the research that many on this BB have done.... believe it or not. My opinion of course.

I agree Maps, what is in the pipeline makes me now believe anything under a pound is a joke. It may as you say take a few steps to get a proper bid.

I think I'm right in saying that 10% ownership can block any bid under Aus rules, even though we are listed on AIM. So VSI or a couple of the bigger IIs have this power. Yes a low ball of 15p would give these ones a decent profit from their buy in of 5p. But VSI have a board member so he knows what the story is. Dont think if its as rosy as we think VSI would sell cheap.

I guess a T1 will want to offer OEMs both DMS providers. But we know some OEMs will tell the T1 who to work with. Ken did say that in some of the RFQs SEE are being put forward to the bid process with multiple partners. I have no doubt Aptiv are promoting SEYE to OEMs that want a cheaper option or indeed where SEE haven't even entered the RFQ.

Vicktor pretty much confirmed that we are working with Aptiv in BMW. Our BMW win (with 3 T1's ) was April 2018. We must have been working with them min 6 months earlier so im sure we've been joint bidding for all major contracts with them recently. Vicktor is right to be cautious.

Major that's a fair point. Better to focus on the OEMs that want the high performance system at this stage as these will I assume be the Fovio chip option which is better for them and is better in terms of scalability and profit for SEE,

Good on them. Means DMS is mainstream.
I'm happy if we focus on FCA, VW Group and the Japanese OEMs.

Seeing2020 - the CES tie up with Intel was 3 years ago so what has changed?

- at that time DMS may or may not happen, it is a nailed on cert now
- there was no certainty that SEE would be the main player, it is now
- there was no talk of legislation, there is now
- there was no talk about 5 star ratings for DMS, there is now
- no DMS provider had a USP, there is now - called the Fovio chip

And remember Intel are big into FPGA chips as well. From their website....

Terrym, Mike tweeted before xmas about new advancements coming to add to eye tracking. I expect things like cognitive load, identification, emotional state are built in to the chip.
