RE: So Silver will rocket in March as demand is higher than supply by 4x30 Jan 2026 11:30
Will there be an escape goat for the potential March 2026 flare up and force majeure by COMEX and western metals exchanges?
As you see again the exchange rules changed and caused the crash in Silver! Hmm... a bit like before.
The Historical Context: The Hunt Brothers' Silver Corner
This case is a famous chapter in financial history:
What They Did: In the late 1970s, the Hunt brothers used their vast oil wealth to amass a huge position in physical silver and silver futures contracts, aiming to drive up the price. At one point, they controlled an estimated one-third of the world's privately held silver.
The Collapse ("Silver Thursday"): The scheme unravelled on March 27, 1980 (known as "Silver Thursday"), when silver prices crashed after exchange rules changed and they could not meet massive margin calls.
Aftermath: The brothers lost over a billion dollars, were sued by investors, and eventually filed for personal bankruptcy in 1988 before reaching the mentioned settlement with regulators. Fine $10m each and $130m in civil damages.
