I think you mean "increased dividend" and "increased dividend frequency"

I have done some DCF math and plotted the NPV and although i am not posting here, the number based on them doing nothing looks good [on the basis the business will eventually be closed down and the remaining cash returned]. Maybe nothing is in our best interest. If they get things wrong, there is a downside risk. If they just produce what they have to the lifetime of the fields and the gas price stays at - say, no less than 50% of current price, then i can't see how this could go wrong...

I had this from 10p. I was "out" in 2018 as cash was needed to rebuild my shack of a house. I have come back building a considerable stake, little by little on the pullbacks in the last 6 months... It is now the largest holding in my folio which is heavily O&G-focused. I have been in the market for oilers since the early noughties. Rarely have I seen such a good "real world" opportunity as this business. There are some things worth worrying about [i hold SDX and PET, for example], others, which are not...

Say he put a tax on domestic gas. This won't reduce our price per therm per se but could reduce national domestic demand. In that case, we sell into other markets? Does it work like this?

Not sure what relevance this has. I don't know enough about the contracts to comment properly, but i thought we a tied into very low prices for long periods. Yes, great for accounts to predict cashflows, bad for exposure to commodity prices.

SQZ really, really need to retain dividends at 3p . If they want to send a message to the market, maybe a 10% increase to 3.3p would do the trick.

Unless there is something bumper in the offing there can no reasonable reason not to leave it at 3p... or as you say 3.3p could be nice!

As always folks, these valuations are great but they are contingent upon the gas price and perhaps more importantly, the dividend policy.

On what basis did you make your judgment and if, as you suggest, it was poor, what were / are your expectations?

I would like to what people mean by success, what, financially, does success look like.

As a long time former shareholder, I just wanted to drop in and pay my respects to Peter. It's terrible news for his family. I did not know him personally but heard him speak at various events in the noughties... RIP.

Although he was 80 and i wonder if it was covid related as he had not stepped down from his professional roles?
