Net debt is around 3.2 bill gbp once cash and leases etc removed from the sum. They could easily half that by the time the loans mature in 2024.

I can see loads of massive drops - FTSE is down, check NEX or WH smith today. Terrible and i am assuming its general market due to the possibility the lockdown will be extended.

Ok so sounds like you are trading, not investing. I am the opposite, dont need the cash short term really so even though these drops are horrible, i can hold

I would hold off the buys until results. Way the market is we could see a massive drop in the next two weeks. If results disappoint - short term this could be terrible for holders

Icarus42 - what do you think of the fundamentals of MCRO? Do you think they are starting to recover based on the last trade update etc?

Good post Chris. I am worried about the results but that's because a few numpties in this thread put doubts in my head. I wont sell before results and choosing to ignore them fools - i have been in since June so seen the big crash over the summer and stayed strong...ish haha

I re-read the trade update and only issue i can see is if there are more write downs. Still shouldn't impact too much considering current share price vs Earnings etc as the fundamentals are strong. Still i think the BOD would have done this in July and got it out the way if there was a risk. I also think they will reduce debt again soon.

1) risk planning..no one knows what will happen. It's always the case in life but corona brings new challenges and unknowns.
2) companies going bust or reducing IT spend, delaying projects etc. I see this in the company I work in where some parts are doing well and some struggle and revenue is down 10 per cent since march. Corona may end up helping Micro but obviously back in July when trade update it was all fairly new so they wouldn't know which way it would go
3) debt is cheap now as interest rates are low. Debt is due 2024 and really by then we should expect rate rises. Means micro are best paying debt down so that the interest rates dont kill them
4) bad debt from customers normally increases in recessions so cash flow may be impacted
5) some BOD's use the economy as an excuse. Reserve cash for later, implement cost saving actions....when recession is over release cash and improve margin massively....look what we did ha

Ok maybe i took it too far. I still think we will touch 2 Pound though before the results. The way it is, everyone keeps saying there is strong resistance at xy and z and it falls below the "resistance" without any effort. Its dropping no matter what the market is doing so i expect a big drop between now and the 9th. If there are surprises in the results we can all be screwed short term at least.

No worries - i am convinced in the company but i think it will go down before results. i wouldn't be surprised if shorts increased again today as we seen last Monday
