ABRAMOVICH exercises effective control of Evraz PLC given his significant shareholding and the shareholdings of
his close associates who it is reasonable to expect ABRAMOVICH could direct through his close ties with Abramov and Shvidler,as well as his power to nominate directors of the board. ABRAMOVICH is or has been involved in obtaining a benefit from or supporting the Government of Russia, as ABRAMOVICH and Evraz PLC carry on business in sectors of strategic significance to the Government of Russia.
I see your point Thai its messy but at the end of the day if it does happen the existing board will no longer have control of the company and therefore executive decisions won't be made for the continuity of the business as it currently stands.
With all due respect anyone who thinks the UK government is going to do anything to assist Evraz in conducting its business is a more than quite naive.
Its the perfect opportunity for them to moth ball the PLC. Look at what happened to Petropavlovsk...
Surely this is 100% on the cards if the license isn't granted to allow the payments?
If Evraz can't service its debts its creditors will simply force an involuntary liquidation and administrators will be appointed to dismember the company and its businesses?
