Good posts belgrano and right that you highlight that there is risk, indeed with all shares. If the gentleman goes Annuity that is the lump sum of £100k handed over and £4K per annum for the rest of his life. Hopefully not but could drop dead tomorrow and nothing to pass down to others.
With the Poly case he also retains all his capital and can benefit from capital gains. It is 1/4 of its pre invasion sp (£12.00) So dividend plus the potential for remarkable gains on return to normality. That you can pass on.
The limitation on the risk for me are the Khazakstan assets, 48% of revenue, and outside Russia and which they are already looking to do the splits
It won't be for everyone and nothing wrong with diversifying risk but that's the way I see it.
A solution in Ukraine will come. Today, tomorrow, next week, next month, May 9th etc...
