Apple users will have to live in the real world for a little longer as its mixed-reality Vision Pro headset, unveiled in June and in development for seven years, has hit a manufacturing snafu, the Financial Times reported.

According to multiple people with direct knowledge of the manufacturing process, Apple plans for its Chinese contract manufacturer, Luxshare, to only produce 400,000 headset devices in 2024. However, the production figures could be much lower.

Tm58…one thing has changed dramatically since the Samsung settlement ..the share price. There is now no value apportioned to the organic business or the managements ability to deliver value it seems . Not sure only TH is questioning the organic value or the management ..it seems the market is generally with the current price.

An interesting point also is the propensity to see LTH as having more rights than more recent holders..presumably where the LTH has thrown in the towel. Every share has the same rights and every shareholder irrespective of size of holding ( save 5% gives you the right to call a general meeting!) has the same rights and the same valid ability to question the past and future direction of the company. Holding shares is not an endurance competition to see how much pain can be taken and still hold. Many institutions ..take LOAM as an example trade in and out of their holdings as the mood takes them, or as information becomes available.

Yes i have already ..there seems real hate around that the fact someone , the largest independent shareholder has a view and dares exercise their right to challenge the management of the company…to be fair it appears a long shot to me but to inspire such bile and hate its extraordinary how emotional some on here are getting in the circumstances. If certain of the allegations are founded then i guess those involved could be somewhat nervous of outcomes and have such feelings against the whistleblower. Ordinary shareholders should just accept company law and vote according to their personal view. Shareholders have every right to ask questions of management and corporate governance and if necessary whistleblow to the FCA if they feel that shareholders were misled and that there was not a level playing field in the market.

Has been on the payroll for over 2 decades and we still have not got any commercial traction..Godfather of QD is also a big shout without having any products adopted by the myriad of potential partners over those decades…no one seems to question why in that time frame no one has placed any orders?

I seem to remember a specific question on timing in the results presentation around “current’ year being FY or CY ..very much CY which was in itself pushing things back a bit i thought.

Anyway will all come out in the wash…any order for new state of the art sensing in any devise through STM to an end user like Apple should be expected to be the start of a journey…something that the market seems to attribute no value to for now. I’m fairly sure the share price will reflect progress as and when..before any rns !! There will be many inside…keep ‘em peeled.

Well that all seems tight..a slight issue is that one must presume that with only a few months to go for release that supply chain even little old Nanoco must be aware of what could be significant volume demand ( and i do realise they are talking of prepping ..but also of reviving display capacity too) it’s difficult to think though not impossible that Nanoco again would leave the assumption of a low volume case out there if they thought it was large volume..again the problem with that would be if it leaks onto th market and some well informed folk take the market out ..many LTH would obviously be delighted if it was far earlier and larger than any guidance but it would again be a question mark over the guidance they give. They were pretty categoric that although they anticipate an order this calendar year they very much steered expectation away from this financial year ie end July when asked. But hey ho perhaps it’s all going to be a nice surprise this time.

The other thing with the headsets is from reading expected launch a has been kicked down the road a few times ..such delays would be past down the potential supply chain and be reflected very much in the pushed back guidance that Nanoco has given to its shareholders.

Maxi, i note the new iPhone 15 is due for release early Sept 2023..and although very secretive about these things..not even acknowledging there will be a 15 ! There will undoubtedly be a complicated supply change and Apple will want to ensure that they can immediately deliver to mass demand after release..and will have an inventory build ahead of that would seem sensible i would have thought . If STM are providing tech incorporating Nanoco product then they would have hammered out a supply contract well before launch and inventory build otherwise a potential key component might not be available. Now there could be a highly price sensitive contract already signed and barred from release by confidentiality clauses ..the problem with that would be if it leaks out of Nanoco ,STM or Apple ..and there does appear to be be a whole industry around leaking Apple products and features. So whilst it would be lovely to think we will be making components to a mass market release in a few months time I'm not really sure that is feasible. The AR headset seems far more likely in terms of release dates and volume of product requirement i would have thought..maybe though the iPhone 16 is already being thought out with new sensing features though?

Can certainly add on to the 20p cash with other assets predominantly the IP which has good value even if it just for someone to avoid infringing around new growth markets..but could be extremely valuable if core to next generation sensing. So the market may be saying 20P but i think easy to argue a sum of the parts afair bit more, but commercial adoption is the catalyst yet to be secured which is obviously the basis change that the market currently are not placing any value on. I think you can justifiably place 10p on the remaining IP portfolio as things stand pre commercial orders without going overboard at all.

On the latest Edison note they forecast £5.3m net cash end on current financial year and then £59m from next tranche…so total cash and cash due £64.3m there are 322m shares in issue so the current price is pretty bang on effective cash per share just below 20p..may not be negative enterprise value if the shares nudge up a scrap more. But netted down the £71.5m cash from settlement added to the £6m the company already had has ended up being £64.3m bit less than many were expecting.

Cash current year end net £5.3m with £59m second tranche to come ..so although we had £6m cash and were to receive £71m in total from Samsung the figures are more modest. The note talks of paying back c £5m loan..which i think many thought sorted as they talked of cash runway to 2025 pre settlement but .this obviously didn't take the £5m loan repayment into account , as £4.5m of the fy23 £5.3m net cash comes from the balance of the first tranche.

Makes more sense of the £33-£40m payout ..retaining £20m as that is all that is there.
